Hotel Londres Saint-Honoré

Budget-conscious tourists and business travelers who want to stay in central Paris are the primary clientele at this quiet hotel housed in a building that’s more than 300 years old. Guests tend to stick to themselves, and many of them forego the continental breakfast that’s served in a small room that has a dash of French country charm. The reception area is a tight squeeze, but there's a lounge with traditional decor, including a leather sofa and a chunky wood coffee table that's covered with magazines and tourist brochures. The atmosphere is generally friendly and intimate, and most travelers will find it comfortable. 

This modest hotel enjoys a desirable 1st Arrondissement location, off one of the city's toniest shopping streets, busy Rue Saint-Honore. The property is one block from the lovely Tuileries Gardens, and within a five-minute stroll of three metro stations. There's a large Monoprix supermarket on Avenue l'Opera, about a four-minute walk away. 

The hotel is also a short walk from many of the city's top sights. It's a six-minute walk to the Carrousel du Louvre entrance on Rue de Rivoli, which is the best way to access the Louvre Museum. The Musee d’Orsay is a 14- minute walk, taking Rue des Pyramides through the Tuileries and Pont Royal to cross the Seine. Using the metro, it's 10 minutes to the Champs-Élysées, 19 minutes to Notre Dame, and 26 minutes to the Eiffel Tower.

Gare du Nord is 22 minutes away by metro. Driving to Charles de Gaulle Airport takes about 50 minutes, and it's roughly 40 minutes to Orly Airport. 

Guest rooms are basic but tidy, and have cheery, bright punches of color that make spaces pleasant. White walls and bedding are accented by crimson or orange carpet, bed throws, drapes, and upholstered furniture. Most rooms have high ceilings and large windows, but some on the top floor have slanted ceilings and feel a bit more cramped. Simple wood furniture that’s often mismatched and varies by room typically includes desks and headboards. Some of the larger units also have small dining tables with chairs. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars stocked with water and soft drinks, safes, and free Wi-Fi, but there are no kettles. 

Bathrooms also vary, but expect fresh white or beige tiling, small sinks, hairdryers, and toiletries. Some units have walk-in showers with handheld showerheads, and others offer shower/tub combos with large baths. 

Some rooms on the top floors have lovely views of the city, but most overlook the street. Rooms come in Single, Double, and Triple bed options in Standard and Superior categories.

This small, no-frills hotel offers limited amenities, but it does serve a continental breakfast that includes pastries, juices, cereal, and breads. But it’s not free, and many past guests have questioned the cost. The front desk is staffed 24/7, and extra security steps are taken, as guests are required to drop off their keys each time they leave. Wi-Fi is free and accessible throughout the property, and free newspapers are available each day. The hotel has an elevator, but accessing it requires climbing a flight of stairs. It also stops between floors, and guests need to use a spiral staircase to reach rooms, so the hotel isn't ideal for travelers with limited mobility. Staff will help transport luggage to rooms, and they'll also help with calling cabs and arranging airport transportation. Wi-Fi is free throughout, and pets are welcome for an extra fee.
