Hotel Louvre Sainte Anne

The small lobby of the Hotel Louvre Sainte Anne looks out onto a street lined with Asian restaurants. Sleek and modern, the lobby seems out of place with the rest of the hotel. Burgundy armchairs are clustered around small round tables in front of a large window lined with potted plants and flowers, while futuristic-looking disc shaped lights hang overhead. Newspapers and magazines are on hand, along with brochures, guidebooks, and a computer for guests' use. The basement breakfast room is like a cave, with a barrel-vaulted ceiling and stone walls. White formica tabletops mix with wooden chairs, and sepia-toned photographs adorn the walls.

Aside from the small lobby, there are no other common gathering spaces. The hotel is perhaps best suited to tourists who just want a comfortable place to sleep, as the rooms are small and amenities are limited. The hotel is near such major sights as the Louvre and the Palais Royal, and is within a three-minute walk of the Pyramides metro station, making it a good base from which to explore the city.

The Hotel Louvre Sainte Anne is centrally located in the first arrondissement. It is within walking distance to many sights and museums, and there are plenty of restaurants in the immediate area. It's within a 10-minute walk of the Louvre and Tuileries Garden in one direction, and the Garnier Opera House in the other. The lovely Palais Royal garden, with its graceful arcades, is about a five-minute walk from the property. There is plenty of shopping nearby on the famously pricey Rue Saint-Honore, which is full of designer shops and boutiques. The nearest metro station is  Pyramides, about a three-minute walk from the hotel.

There are several room choices at the Hotel Louvre Sainte Anne, ranging from Singles to a Family Room that sleeps three and a Reduced Mobility Room. Rooms, though pleasant, bright, and clean, are small and can feel cramped. Caramel and creamy colors are complemented by touches of mint green. The traditional decor usually includes striped wallpaper and damask curtains to match. Some of the furniture shows signs of age, though it's well maintained. Photographs of Parisian scenes hang above white beds accented by caramel-colored bedspreads and pillows. All rooms come with tiny desks, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are tiny, though bright and clean, with walk-in showers or shower/tub combos, and heated towel racks. Hairdryers and limited toiletries are provided.

The hotel is situated on a street lined with restaurants that stay open late, and some guests on lower floors complain of noise. Rooms on higher floors are quieter, and some of these have lovely balconies with views of the Sacre Coeur Basilica.

There is a computer available for guests' use in the small lobby, where guidebooks and daily newspapers are also on hand. A hot and cold breakfast is available for an extra fee, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Laundry services are also available.
