Hotel Le Burgundy

Guests at the luxurious Burgundy Hotel are greeted in a gleaming, elegant lobby, bedecked in marble, with a sleek white front desk and pops of colorful art and gold sconces on the walls. Hallways are equally polished, with classy touches like chic geometric wallpaper and chandeliers. The beautiful, contemporary interiors of the hotel's upscale restaurant, Le Baudelaire, are clad in neutral beige and brown hues paired with crisp whites, and are filled with natural light courtesy of large windows and an atrium ceiling. An outdoor patio offers alfresco dining amid climbing vines. The adjoining bar has an intimate vibe with carpeted floors and dark couches. A curvy bar adorned with a colorful geometric pattern and a lovely crimson recessed ceiling with a gold design add opulence to the space. Seating is also available in a grand, modern atrium with hanging plants, a grand piano, and a large marble sculpture. Much of the hotel is heavily scented with incense and perfumes, which might pose issues for some guests.

Burgundy Hotel is located on a small one-way street in one of the most appealing (and expensive) locations in Paris, two blocks from the Tuileries Gardens and Place de la Concorde. The hotel is right off of Rue Saint Honoré, one of the most luxurious streets in the city, which is home to fashion giants like Chanel and Dior. The Louvre Museum is within a 15-minute walk, and there are two metro stations within a five-minute walk, which give easy access to other sights such as the Notre Dame Cathedral (25 minutes away) and Eiffel Tower (30 minutes).

The elegant rooms and suites are tastefully appointed with contemporary decor, custom-made furniture, and chic neutral hues brightened by vibrant patterns and pops of modern art. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars stocked with wine and champagne, iPod docks, US and UK adapters, and free Wi-Fi. Nespresso coffee machines are available on request. Suites add separate living rooms, plus some also have added features like terraces, balconies, dressing rooms, and offices. There's also an apartment available with a pretty outdoor patio furnished with potted plants and a table and chairs. Modern bathrooms have either shower/tub combos or walk-in showers, as well as heated towel racks, glass bath scales, fluffy bathrobes, and high-end toiletries. Deluxe Rooms and Suites have separate showers and tubs. 

Burgundy Hotel has a Michelin-starred fine-dining restaurant, Le Baudelaire, that serves a seasonal menu for lunch and dinner, as well as a tasting menu. Guests can dine alfresco on the outdoor patio. The chic bar serves lunch, a traditional tea service, and evening tapas, and it also has a small library of books that guests can enjoy while imbibing champagne and cocktails. Breakfast is included in the room rates, but some guests complain of meager offerings.

The hotel also has a beautiful indoor pool with marble floors and white lounge chairs. The full service spa has a clean, sleek appeal and offers a variety of treatments as well as a sauna and hammam. There is a fitness room, but it is tiny and equipped with just three exercise machines -- a treadmill, stationary bike, and elliptical machine.There’s a stylish business center with a PC and iMac, as well as a printer. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
