Montmartre Mon Amour

Love is in the air in this amour-soaked boutique Montmartre hotel. It brims with rich colors, modern furniture, and love-themed details. Walls become canvases depicting famous French lovers, such as the kissing pair tinted pink behind the cherry-red front desk. The bold pink and crimson hues enliven the neutral tones of the stone-walled, wood-floored lobby. Heart-shaped, mosaic tiled steps lead up to a small sitting area, where comfortable red seats sit amid rose-tinted wall art of couples dancing on a Parisian street. The walls of the adjoining library are covered with more kissing couples, this time in lavender shades that match the purple coffee table and black bookshelves. Plush armchairs and a comfortable modern couch invite lingering by the fireplace.

The atmosphere is decidedly sexy and romantic, swathed in bold hues, cinematic photographs, and fresh flowers scattered about, so its not surprising this hotel largely attracts couples. The romantic decor and vibe particularly suits romantic getaways and special celebrations, such as anniversaries or honeymoons, but there are several single rooms available for solo travelers, and baby cots and babysitting services can be arranged for those traveling with children.

Montmartre Mon Amour is located on a residential street in the heart of picturesque Montmartre, close to several restaurants and around the corner from the Sacre-Coeur Basilica. The area has a rich artistic history, and many famous artists, including Picasso, had studios there. Several galleries and museums are nearby, such as Espace Dali, which is a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and the Musee de Montmartre, a seven-minute walk away. The Museum of Eroticism, on the Boulevard de Clichy, is within a 15-minute walk. Pigalle, Paris’ red-light district and home to several nightclubs and the Moulin Rouge cabaret, is about a 12-minute walk downhill. The nearest metro station, Chateau Rouge, is a five-minute walk away.

There are three room types available at the Montmartre Mon Amour hotel: Classic, Superior, and Deluxe. All rooms are doused in themes of romance and love, with sexy, stylish decor that includes vibrant wall art and bold colors that vary from room to room, ranging from a cocoon of red and black furnishings to rich purple hues to gorgeous blues. Classic Rooms are the smallest, and their amenities are limited to flat-screen TVs and in-room safes. Superior Rooms are a step up, offering more space as well as minibars, music docks, and fluffy bathrobes. Deluxe Rooms, each an ode to a famous French couple, are the largest, with a mini lounge area, Nespresso coffee machine with free coffee and deluxe Mariage Freres tea, and a selection of snacks in each. Each room at the hotel is also equipped with a “Love Box” full of naughty goodies that is available for an added charge.

Bathrooms are modern and stylish, though small and cramped, even in the Deluxe Rooms.  All come equipped with walk-in rainfall showers and toiletries.

Breakfast is available for an additional charge and can be eaten either in the rooms or the vibrant basement breakfast area. The love theme even extends to the food, with heart-shaped waffles as well as pink smoked salmon, various pastries, breads, cheeses, and fresh fruit. The cozy and colorful lobby library has plenty of coffee-table tomes and guidebooks, and a fireplace that invites lingering. The hotel does not have a fitness room, business center, or restaurant on-site, but in-room massages are available, as is room service. Baby cots and babysitting services are provided to those traveling with children. Freebies include Wi-Fi and daily newspapers.
