The 41-room Murrayshall House Hotel is a charming four-pearl country retreat set on a sprawling estate near the village of Scone that includes two 18-hole golf courses. A variety of rooms and suites are available, all traditionally furnished, with lovely views over the grounds. Rooms include flat-screen TVs and tea- and coffee-making facilities; some might find the old-fashioned decor, while in keeping with the property, a bit dated. A self-catering lodge is also available for groups and families. The renowned Old Masters restaurant is a fine-dining establishment, and there’s also the more casual Club Bar and Restaurant, as well as two bars. Catering to business needs, the hotel offers several meeting rooms and conference facilities for a variety of functions. The hotel is also a popular wedding venue and can accommodate up to 130 people.

The 130-room Fisher’s Hotel is a mid-range property that sits midway on Pitlochry’s main street, which is filled with shops and restaurants. A warm and inviting atmosphere is coupled with traditionally decorated cozy interiors -- think fireplaces, lounges, and such old-world details as damask wallpaper, brass chandeliers, and gilt framed paintings. The hotel has event space that includes an elegant ballroom and hosts a variety of functions such as holiday parties and weddings. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and is served daily in the hotel’s restaurant, where guests can have dinner as well. The hotel also has two bars, which serve a variety of pub food for lunch and dinner in a more casual atmosphere.
