Nigi Nigi Nu Noos E Nu Nu Noos

Opened in 1990, when electricity and potable piped water were still forthcoming luxuries, Nigi Nigi Nu Noos E Nu Nu Noos feels like a jungle adventure with paths cutting through a canopy of vines and tropical foliage to its treehouse-like rooms and apartments. Popular with tourists, couples and families get an authentic jungle atmosphere at affordable rates, though they have to share the popular beach bar with with locals and ex-pats who can be found dining at tables set up on the sand, or having drinks late into the evening under a thatched bamboo roof with views of the sea. The hotel also provides worn loungers on its coveted beach to guests from inland hotels, so the whole place can get crowded with non-guests.  

The hotel has a convenient location right on beautiful White Beach, in the heart of busy Station 2. Nigi Nigi Nu Noos E Nu Nu Noos has its own popular beach bar, and the whole area is known for its hopping nightlife and dining scene. D Mall, a popular shopping area, is about nine minutes north of the hotel on foot. Guests are also within walking distance to some restaurants and bars in Stations 1 and 3, and most major attractions -- such as the Holy Rosary Parish, Willy’s Rock, and Club Paraw -- are a five-minute taxi ride away. Pretty Diniwid Beach is a 15-minute drive away. 

Thick greenery insulates most of the hotel's 20 air-conditioned rooms from the potential noise coming from the beach or the bar, and the surrounding foliage gives them a pleasant jungle tree house vibe. Modeled after traditional Nipa huts with interior ceilings and walls of woven matting, copious use of local hardwoods, and colorful masks lend a lot of Polynesian character to the decor. Living areas are minimal, but all rooms open to great balconies with garden views and comfortable bamboo seating under plenty of shade from overhanging palm awnings. Standard Rooms have 31-inch flat-screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have plain tiled walls and simple walk-in showers that are separated from the toilets and sinks with just a curtain. Deluxe Family Rooms add lofted bedrooms and there are also large two-story apartments for up to eight guests (with two double beds and two bunk beds), but these have no balconies. Note that some furnishings, particularly seat cushions and bathrooms, are showing wear and dated.  

The beachfront bar and restaurant serves Western food like steaks, ribs, and burgers that are popular with locals in an outdoor space (meaning no indoor dining with air-conditioning). The free breakfast is handled via vouchers and can actually be used any time of the day for other meals, though the value (around $7 when we visited) might not go as far at lunch or dinner. Though considerably old and worn, a row of loungers and pink umbrellas sit on the beach just outside the bar's covered terrace, though there aren't always enough for the number of guests and visitors. Beach towels are available for free. Other amenities include laundry service and massages, available for a fee. On the downside, there are no pool or gym. Wi-Fi is free throughout, but it can be unreliable.
