Bottom Line
The only Marriott property in the center of Pigeon Forge, SpringHill Suites tries to cater to all brand loyalists with a waterslide for the kids, work desks for business travelers, and free breakfast for all. The hotel is just a block off the main Parkway, close enough for easy access to the area attractions, but far enough that rooms don't get traffic noise. The rooms are all suites with small living and working areas, but their bizarre layouts can be confounding -- for so much square footage, they can feel cramped, and TVs are inconveniently placed. Both the Clarion Inn and Music Road Hotel have rooms nearly as large and actually offer more amenities for noticeably cheaper rates.

Big chain with local accents that caters to everyone
The long lobby has the woodsy, earth-toned palette befitting the area, and makes use of cut stone accents on the front desk and a central fireplace in the lobby, around which guests can relax. Slate walls around the elevators add even more rustic character, but, beyond that, the atmosphere is pretty typical of a Marriott, with a lot of clean lines and all the typical modern amenities aimed to attract brand loyalists, from families to business travelers to tourists.

Near the main Parkway, on Christmas Tree Lane, SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pigeon Forge is ideally located for easy access to all of Pigeon Forge's attractions. The trolley stop and the only movie theater in town are both one block away. Mini-golf, MagiQuest, and several bars and restaurants are within walking distance. A gateway town to the Great Smoky Mountains area's scenic mountain views and outdoor activities, Pigeon Forge is home to the famed Dollywood theme park (14 minutes by car from the hotel). The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a 25-minute drive away, through nearby Gatlinburg.

The large and modern all-suite rooms have more amenities than average, but the floor plans may feel awkward to some, making for a cramped feel despite the square footage. One king or two queen beds occupy a bedroom separated by a privacy wall from the living area, which has a sofa bed and work desk with ergonomic chair. Some rooms also have a whirlpool tub in the bedroom. The flat-screen TVs are positioned to be seen from either room, which doesn't quite work. A wet bar and pantry house utensils, a coffeemaker, microwave, and mini-fridge. Bathrooms are oddly arranged, too, but the updated fixtures and the separate sink and vanity are a plus. Free Wi-Fi, iPod docks, and HBO come standard.
