Bottom Line

The mid-range Hotel Pisa Tower should be renamed Hotels Pisa Tower, as it actually consists of two buildings down the road from one another. The main hotel is 150 meters from the entrance to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the annex building is a few blocks down the street. Rooms in each hotel are classically decorated and impeccably clean -- the largest room sleeps four people comfortably. Free continental breakfast features freshly baked pastries and strong Italian espresso. Along with the walkable location, the hotels offer bike rentals, airport transfers, free parking, and free Wi-Fi. Hotel Pisa Tower

Scene

Two buildings down the street from one another

Hotel Pisa Tower consists of two separate buildings, located down the street from one another. The biggest difference between the two buildings is that the main building is much closer to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and rooms there cost more. Both buildings feature small lobbies, marble flooring, outdoor garden spaces, and areas for breakfast. Classic decor includes antique-style furniture and vintage pieces like a phonograph and crystal chandeliers. The annex building has a lovely turtle pond in the back garden. Guests usually consist of tourists who are in town to see the tower. Families especially are drawn to the hotel for the Quadruple Rooms and affordable rates. Note that neither of the buildings have an elevator, though there is a porter on hand to assist with luggage.

Location

Easy access to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, shops, and restaurants

Guests should note that there are two locations for Hotel Pisa Tower. The main hotel is just outside of the entrance that leads to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. An open-air market across the way is loaded with souvenirs and food stands, and there's a McDonald's as well. Note that the area gets extremely quiet after dark. The annex building is about 300 meters down the road, away from the tower, but still quite close. It's in a quieter section of the neighborhood, near residences. Pisa's international airport and train station are about a 15-minute drive from the hotels. A taxi stand in front of the main hotel is convenient.

Rooms

Classic decor, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs

Each of the rooms in both buildings have a distinct layout and are individually decorated in a classic design which features a fairly neutral color palette, glossy tile floors, and Leaning Tower of Pisa art. Chandeliers and table lamps provide light. Wardrobes are decorated with tall mirrors and most rooms have small desks. Some rooms feature four-poster beds, while other beds are simple black wrought-iron frames. The largest rooms sleep four people in a double bed and two twin beds. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Updated bathrooms either have shower/tub combos or glass-enclosed shower cabins. Toiletries and wall-mounted hairdryers are provided. Some of the rooms have picturesque views of the hotel's gardens.
