Bottom Line

The 137-room Hotel Kings Court is an upscale property with a superb central location in Prague's Old Town, right next to major shopping and popular sights. Though the area is busy, rooms are quiet. Appealing features such as separate showers and tubs, stocked minibars, and electric kettles are in all rooms; upgraded rooms have jetted tubs, terraces with city views, and free entry to the spa. A great breakfast is included with some rooms as well, but additional beds cost extra. The on-site restaurant and bar receive great reviews and serve many different types of drinks and meals. A top highlight is the full-service spa with sauna, indoor pool, and steam room, and there is an attached 24-hour fitness center, but it has no outside windows. Guests in regular rooms have to pay extra to enter the spa/fitness area.

Hotel Kings Court

Scene

A luxurious and modern hotel in a historical building

Inside a historical, neo-Renaissance style building is Hotel Kings Court, a grand and stylish property with a lively atmosphere. Molding and arches decorate the common areas and there are many open spaces with gorgeous chandeliers and high ceilings. The lobby has modern gray and red chairs with high backs and light tile floor to help the bold colors stand out. Walls are white, which makes the bright artwork pop, and the front desk is beautiful with iridescent panels and a huge square chandelier. The on-site restaurant also has updated luxury with purple soft chairs, patterned carpet, and brilliant chandeliers. Wood floors run through part of the restaurant as well and the on-site bar is intimate with more plush purple seating and vibrant artwork. The terrace off of the restaurant is enclosed and open year round with heating in the winter. Even though this building was the Czech Chamber of Commerce, the upscale and cozy interior doesn’t feel business-like at all.

Rooms

Contemporary rooms with extras in upgraded rooms

Many different types of rooms are available at the Hotel Kings Court; all are decorated in earth tones with recessed lighting and orange tufted chairs for extra seating. Padded headboards are covered in metallic fabrics while the patterned carpets tie into leaf-style bed runners. Flat-screen TVs rest on wood desks while a lacquered wood built-in contains an electric kettle, snacks, and well-stocked minibars. Some rooms have great views of Republic Square and the interior courtyard while all have Cardo mattresses. Additionally, upgraded rooms include access to the executive lounge, free entry into the spa, and terraces with spectacular views. Despite the central location, all soundproofed rooms are quiet with little noise.

Cream tile bathrooms have antique patterned wallpaper on an accent wall along with large tubs and separate glassed-in showers with rainfall showerheads. Pod lights in the ceiling make the space bright, and there are makeup mirrors on the black countertops, scales on the floor, and heated towel racks. Ecoboutique or L’Occitane amenities are in all bathrooms while upgraded rooms have jetted tubs with TVs over them in addition to bathrobes and slippers.

Features

Full-service spa with 24-hour fitness center plus exceptional on-site restaurant and bar

The full-service on-site spa, Spa Kings Court, is covered in tan tile, flowy curtains, and colorful mood lighting to create an updated and relaxing space. Both the sauna and steam room are a good size, and the fitness center is open 24-hours. However, even though there are different types of equipment and a flat-screen TV, the fitness center has interior windows, making it dim. A small blue-tile pool is modern and surrounded by stone walls with a tunnel through to the hot tub. Treatment rooms include recessed lighting and striped wallpaper along with candles and a single lamp.

Brasserie mEating Point, the on-site restaurant, receives excellent reviews and serves French, Czech, and international cuisine. Breakfast, included with some rooms, is served here; menus are digitally displayed on an iPad. There’s also the Vodka Lobby Bar, which features vodkas from all over the world in addition to live piano music and cocktails. Concierge services and 24-hour room service are available at the Hotel Kings Court and there is a casino on-site, but a different company owns it.
