Le Palais Art Hotel Prague

Built in the 19th century in the Belle Époque style, Le Palais Art Hotel has beautiful architectural features including vaulted ceilings and marble floors. There’s a wide range of art featured throughout the hotel hallways, common areas, and rooms including sculptures, paintings, and photographs. Two of the rooms feature art by Czech painter Milos Reindl along with personal photos of the artist. Luxurious indoor areas include a library with plum-colored velvet chairs and long romantic curtains as well as a lobby bar offering single malt whiskies and Cuban cigars. There’s an elegant Italian restaurant with chandeliers and white linens and a summer terrace where guests can enjoy a drink outside while looking out at the rooftops of the Nusle Valley. 

The hotel can be a challenge to find as it’s in a residential area where streets can appear similar. The Le Palais is further from most sightseeing attractions than many other luxury hotels in Prague, but there’s a tram within a five-minute walk. Both Old Town Square with its famous Astronomical clock and Prague Castle can be reached in less than 25-minutes on public transportation. The airport is around a 30-minute drive.

Perky pink and yellow bedding tart up otherwise classic rooms with pale walls and brownish carpeting. Homey furnishings include wood desks, fabric chairs (more pink), and table lamps. Some rooms have slanted ceilings, and two rooms feature urban art sketched on the walls, colorful paintings, and framed photos of Milos Reindl. Le Palais Suite has a separate bedroom that feels more like a nook, with a big window, a small flat-screen TV, and a bed tucked into it. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, mini-bars, coffee/tea facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are elegant, with brown marble countertops, matching shower/tub combos, makeup mirrors, and L’Occitane bath products. 

The large fitness center is located in a carpeted basement room and includes a variety of equipment including modern treadmills, exercise bikes, and free-weights, as well as a few dated-looking weight machines. The spa has a whirlpool, sauna, and several showers and offers facials and massages for an additional charge. The free breakfast buffet offers a variety of items and receives good reviews. A small, Italian restaurant on-site is convenient. There’s also a lobby bar and an outdoor terrace is available in the summer.
