Hotel Majestic Plaza Prague

Rooms at the elegant, old-world Hotel Majestic Plaza Prague are divided between two historic buildings. One was originally a tenant house, dating back to 1880, and the other dates to the beginning of the 20th century, and was the city's first office building. The facade, however, doesn't look particularly historic; it looks more like it could belong to a modern office building. The lobby of the hotel is elegant and traditional, if slightly corporate, if with high ceilings, columns, marble floors, and lots of brassy fixtures. Large windows shed light on the similarly attractive bar area, where guests and locals can grab a drink in one of the white, modern chairs. The dining spaces at the hotel are refined, with tea lights and paintings by Giuseppe Arcimboldo. In the summer, a stone terrace with rattan tables and chairs shaded by umbrellas provides a popular spot for outdoor dining. The cellar bar, Rodeo Oldies Bar, has arched stone ceilings and turns into a lively spot at night, with party lights and '80s, '90s, and '00s dance music. 

The hotel is located on a quiet side street in Prague's Nove Mesto (New Town), surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafes. It’s only a five-minute walk to Wenceslas Square, and both the Charles Bridge and Old Town Square, with its famous Astronomical Clock, are within a 20-minute walk. The airport is less than a 30-minute drive away, and the hotel can arrange transfers for a fee. Parking is available for a fee.

Rooms at the Hotel Majestic Plaza Prague are classic in style, with touches such as textured wall painting, floor-length curtains, hanging light fixtures, and antique-style finishes on the wooden furniture (though to some these pieces may just look slightly dated). The carpeting in some rooms is need of a replacement, and lower-tier rooms do feel older and more worn than suites and higher-tier rooms. Bathrooms are black and white tile, with makeup mirrors, towel warmers, generous toiletry kits, and shower/tub combinations. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, mini-bars, coffee/tea facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Deluxe Rooms with small, furnished terraces are available, some with views of Prague Castle, and the Panorama Suite is especially large, with a wall of windows and two balconies with city views. 

The hotel offers an extensive free breakfast buffet, with a variety of hot and cold items such as pastries, fruits, cereal, eggs, and bacon. There is a fine-dining restaurant on-site that serves traditional Czech and international cuisine, and terrace dining is available in the warmer months. The hotel has two bars: a bright and elegant lobby bar and a lively, hip cellar bar. There’s a small spa area with a sauna and a whirlpool, but no fitness center. Four meeting rooms are available for private events, and parking is available for a fee.
