Bottom Line

The 127-room K+K Hotel Central is an upscale property located on the outskirts of Prague's Old Town. Restaurants, popular sights, and public transportation are all under a 15-minute walk away. The hotel has a mix of antique and modern decor, from the common spaces to the rooms. Airy, fresh rooms have wood floors, stocked minibars, and big windows. The wellness area has a polished design, but fitness equipment and the sauna hours are somewhat limited. Free Wi-Fi is available everywhere, including in business areas, and the free breakfast, served for several hours, receives exceptional reviews. There is no on-site parking, and all public and valet parking incurs daily fees.

K+K Hotel Central

Scene

Historic hotel with contemporary flair

An art nouveau design shines at the K+K Hotel Central, from the historic exterior to the molded ceilings, but the modern furnishings help keep it fresh and up-to-date. The bones of each common area are antique with gorgeous brass chandeliers, light tile or herringbone pattern wood floors, and gold-painted wrought iron on the elegant staircases. The hotel shows its contemporary side in suede chairs, colorfully-lit desks, and red plexiglass accent walls.

The lobby is airy with high ceilings while the conference room is completely glassed-in with purple chairs. The breakfast room is built in an upscale former theater hall, and to preserve the history of the building, was constructed directly on top of the glass box conference room. A vaulted glass panel ceiling hovers over the purple chairs and striped carpet while the breakfast buffet area sits in the center on brown/black tile. In the Bar and Bistro there is a TV screen with a fireplace video and a brown-and-purple color palette in the pillows, soft couches, and area rugs. Additionally, this hotel has Prague’s first glass elevator, which has copper-colored wrought iron. The mixture of modern and vintage creates an upscale yet cozy atmosphere.
