Lindner Hotel Prague Castle

This historic hotel has Art Deco style from the interesting, antique light fixtures to the statues that adorn the eating areas. Classical music can be heard throughout the property and there is a lovely outdoor seating area in front of the hotel with shrubs and a statue. The restaurant, like the lobby, has a mixture of tile and carpeting, while the intriguing yellow glass lights on the ceiling add to the Art Deco look. Most of the restaurant is modern with orange-ish wood chairs and tables, along with '30s style artwork on the walls. The lobby bar is cozy with original vaulted ceilings, a baby grand piano, plush furniture, bronze statues, and vintage chandeliers. The many business facilities on-site also have a similar look with patterned carpet, but the brown leather office chairs are soft and updated. A mix of updated and antique finishes makes this hotel feel comfortable and elegant, if not quite living up to its four-and-a-half-star status.

A quiet cobbled street within the Prague Castle complex will lead you to the Lindner Hotel Prague Castle. A 10-minute walk will get you to the Prague Castle itself while the Strahov Monastery, Petrin Lookout Tower, and Strahov Stadium are under a 15-minute walk away. Shops, restaurants, and public transportation are also within walking distance. More popular destinations across the river, including Old Town and Wenceslas Square, are about a 20- to 30-minute tram ride from the hotel.

There are several different types of rooms offered at the Lindner Hotel Prague Castle, but all have red lampshades, watercolor paintings, and flowery carpet. Rooms are a mix of contemporary and historical touches with flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and electric kettles, but the minibars are minimally stocked. Some rooms have gorgeous 16th-century wood beams in addition to walk-in showers and soaking tubs. Front rooms have shared outdoor balconies with seating and views of the terrace. Shower/tub combos are common in the mostly modern bathrooms, as is the patterned tan tile, and there is a good amount of counter space in each. Lindner Hotels and Resorts amenities are available, as are hair dryers, in all bathrooms.

The vintage Restaurant Senses serves traditional Czech and international foods while the Muse Bar and Lounge features salads, snacks, cocktails, and cigars. Breakfast is included with some rooms and includes waffles, fruit, eggs, and bacon. All eateries receive good reviews and there is room service with limited hours. There is a fitness center with sauna and locker rooms, but it has limited equipment and no windows. A seasonal tennis court is available for a fee, and there is the AZUR Wellness area with massages and beautiful wooden lounge chairs. Business facilities are a big pull at his hotel. The property is pet-friendly, but only one pet under 10 pounds is allowed per room; there is also a daily fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
