Louren Hotel

The Louren Hotel is a family-run property with a welcoming atmosphere and homey decor. The chandeliers, furniture, and photos give the property an intimate feel; hot and cold drinks, snacks, and free umbrellas show the hospitable attitude of the owners. White plush chairs and yellowish drapes adorn the lobby with red oriental rugs covering the herringbone wood floors. Ionic columns separate the breakfast room/lobby bar and front desk area, and the old style drapes tie the room’s style together. Jazz and blues music plays in the lobby bar/breakfast room with cozy blue and white bench seating and patterned carpet throughout. An old-style wood bar with a brass railing and paintings on the walls add to the authenticity of the hotel. Great lighting, comfy touches, and a warm atmosphere make the Louren Hotel seem like you’re staying at a welcoming relative’s house.

The Louren Hotel is located in a quiet residential area of Prague called Vinohrady. Restaurants, shops, and the Zizkov Television Tower surround the hotel. Public transportation is within walking distance. More popular sights such as Old Town, Republic Square, the Prague Opera, and the Charles Bridges are about a 10- to 20-minute tram ride away. Public transportation can get passengers to any tourist sights and a rental car is only necessary for those that plan to go outside the city.

Classic design fills the space in all the rooms with (a touch dated) patterned wallpaper that matches the carpet, wood headboards, and antique-style red and tan curtains. Ceiling lights look updated while lovely vintage wood furniture makes the space feel like a homey bedroom. Flat-screen TVs rest on wooden desks and old photographs adorn the walls. Stocked minibars are a great extra, but the in-room safes aren’t large enough for laptops. Upgraded rooms have skylights and enough room for families, but some rooms suffer exterior noise. Light tan tile decorates the contemporary bathrooms, which also have white sinks and a good amount of counter space. Pod lights make the space bright, and bathrobes and slippers are available by request. Louren Hotel amenities are available, and all bathrooms have shower/tub combos with mobile nozzles.

The free buffet breakfast including pastries, cereals, meats, cheeses, and veggies is a highlight for many guests. It can be delivered to your room for a fee and hot items, such as bacon and eggs, can be ordered as well. The breakfast area also serves as the lobby bar with cocktails and a lively atmosphere, and there is a free business center in the lobby. No on-site parking is available, so guests must use a local garage with a daily fee; reservations are recommended. This hotel is pet-friendly with no extra fees, but only two pets are allowed per room, and the front desk and concierge services are both 24-hours.
