Rezidence Vysehrad

Rezidence Vysehard has the look and feel of a high-end apartment block rather than a generic business hotel. This modern four-story building with large windows is located in a residential area on a quiet Prague street, just outside the city center. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby area let in plenty of natural light, and seating consists of black leather armchairs and sofas. Wood-paneled walls, beige floor tiles, and a few potted plants create a sparsely decorated space that resembles the reception area of an office building more than that of a hotel. Popular with both leisure and business travelers, this hotel caters to travelers who want an apartment-like stay with an on-site kitchen, and pet-friendly policies make it a good choice for those traveling with dogs. 

Rezidence Vysehrad is situated outside the city center at the foot of Vysehrad hill. It's a quiet and green residential area, with most neighboring buildings housing private homes and apartments. Prague Congress Center is located close by, making it a convenient place to stay for business travelers. A metro station is just a few minutes away on foot, and most parts of the city are easily accessible from here.

The Rezidence Vysehard offers 26 fully furnished apartments with well-equipped kitchens. Decorated in a simple but stylish way, the apartments are comfortable and spacious, and don't have the generic decor typical of most hotel rooms. Spaces are bright and cheerful, thanks to large windows, and wooden floors and wood furniture finished in warm tones. Most walls are painted white, apart from a few accent walls covered in retro, '60s-style wallpaper. Otherwise, the color palette leans toward earthy tones: pale beige sofas, coffee-colored area rugs, and curtains and bedcovers the color of driftwood. All units are air-conditioned, and standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, DVD players, minibars, and safes. Kitchens are fully equipped with full-size fridges, stovetops, ovens, electric kettles, and cookware. The Executive Deluxe Suites and Presidential Suite include a few extras, including washing machines and dishwashers, bathrobes and slippers, and irons and ironing boards.

Bathrooms are tiled in a soft beige and are fitted with shower/tub combos. Hairdryers are provided, but there are only wall-mounted soap dispensers and no toiletries (except in the Executive Deluxe and Presidential Suites). All apartments have balconies, while the Presidential Suite includes a large terrace with views over the old town, and castle.

Most apartment-style hotels cater to the self-service set and offer little in the way of features, but Residence Vysehrad provides a good lineup of facilities. Fine Cafe Restaurant is located on the ground floor and serves a menu of Italian cuisine throughout the day. A continental breakfast buffet is available (for a fee), and a la carte options are available from morning until night. The small fitness center has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden that let in a lot of light, but equipment here is limited to a treadmill, a stationery bike, a weight machine, and free weights. There's also a sauna and an Asian-style spa -- Tawan -- offering different types of massages. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel while on-site parking costs extra.
