Bottom Line

The 24-room Hotel Maribel is a chalet-style property set in a clearing surrounded by woods. Its location in the Adamello Brenta Park is great for exploring the area's natural beauty and there's also easy access to skiing. The spa impresses, especially the fact that all the facilities are free -- in fact almost everything is free of charge. Lodge-inspired rooms are clean, comfortable, and include furnished balconies, but there's not much for kids on-site. Maso Maribel gets high marks for style and cuisine. Rates are on the high side, but there's plenty included to make it an astoundingly good value.

Hotel Maribel

Scene

Ski lodge style hotel with Alpine ambience aplenty

Set in its own clearing surrounded by coniferous forests, the family-run Hotel Maribel is an imposing, Alpine chalet-style building complete with a traditional gently sloping roof, gray-stone walls, and wood-balconied facade. Guests are greeted by a stuffed reindeer and sleigh, before stepping into the fresh, modern, and pine-clad lobby area. Wood is very much a theme in this hotel -- even the lampshades hanging over the reception desk are fashioned from logs -- giving much of the property a lovely scent of wood resin. The general vibe is contemporary ski lodge, though with enough traditional elements to make it cozy. Outside, the manicured lawns are set with pretty patio furniture and gorgeous views of the mountains.
