Scene
An active vibe with just the right amount of relaxation
The scene at Sporthotel Rosatti is, unsurprisingly, sporty. It's popular in the wintertime due to its proximity to the ski slopes, but it draws a fair share of summer guests who come to hike and cycle in the area. Several local soccer clubs come here regularly for training camps. The unassuming wooden exterior blends in nicely with the natural surroundings, as do the hallways and staircases, which have stonework, greenery, and wooden walls and floors. The small, cozy lobby is done up with warm colors and has photos of past guests decorating its walls. Gorgeous mountains with evergreen trees and snowcapped peaks serve as the backdrop to the property.
Location
Right in the center of downtown Dimaro with easy access to the mountains
Sporthotel Rosatti is right in the center of the small mountain village of Dimaro, near the Dolomite mountains of Trentino in the Sole Valley. It's mostly surrounded by other hotels and within walking distance of area shops and restaurants. The area is quiet, pristine, and natural. The popular ski area Madonna di Campiglio is a 15-minute drive away, and the hotel provides a shuttle to and from this site and to other area trailheads.
Rooms
Modern conveniences with a classic, somewhat dated-looking, Alpine style
Although this property underwent a thorough modernization in 2011, the hotel intentionally maintained a classic Alpine feel throughout the rooms and suites. Rooms are simply decorated with wooden furnishings and floors, and some have slanted ceilings. Even rooms in the more recently built annex have authentic touches that make the place feel more like a chalet than a hotel. Room size varies greatly, and some of the lower-priced rooms are quite small. All have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and minibars. Balcony rooms have gorgeous mountain views. Bathrooms are clean and have heated towel racks -- and while most only have showers, some of the suites come with whirlpool tubs.
Features
Heated indoor pool, wellness center, two bars, authentic cuisine, and grappa tastings
The wellness center at Sporthotel Rosatti is a big draw for guests, with its whirlpool, Turkish bath, and solarium/infrared sauna. The heated indoor counter-current swimming pool allows guests to swim against a current and has a hydromassage feature. There's a small fitness center with a couple pieces of cardio equipment and one pulley-system weight machine. Guests can borrow mountain bikes for free during the warmer seasons. A separate ski storage room with an anti-theft boot-drying rack is a terrific plus for guests who don't want to drag their equipment back to their rooms every day. The regionally-inspired breakfast buffet served in the on-site restaurant is free and plentiful; there's also a half-board option that includes dinner. There are two bars, and grappa tastings are often held in the evenings.
