Primarily a time-share property that's especially popular with families and retirees
The majority of guests here are time-share owners, returning year after year. The general demographic consists of guests on the older side, as well as families with kids. Some guests have noted that the building’s lease has only a few years left (as of 2014), and that this may be a reason the facilities and rooms have not received the updates that some of the other Royal resorts have. The towers are stucco, like many of the properties that line this popular strip of sand, but noticeably dated in their exterior architecture. The beach area is clean and well-stocked with palapas.

Towards the southern end of the Cancun Hotel Zone, with a 20-minute drive to airport
The resort is closer to Cancun International Airport (20 minutes drive) than the city's downtown area. The airport is accessible via taxi as well as group transportation, which can be arranged ahead of time through the hotel for a fee. For those with no interest in nightlife who wish to remain on-site, the resort offers an array of free sports activities.

Rattan furniture and outdated beach-themed art in well-kept rooms
Outdated decor is prevalent in rooms that are nonetheless clean. Guests have noted that the kitchens are small, which can be problematic for those wishing to save money on food through cooking. Multiple guests have complained that dishwashers are old and occasionally broken and that air-conditioning units are very loud. Wi-Fi is reportedly spotty as well. Toiletries are minimal, though available for purchase in the on-site convenience store. Rooms include coffeemakers and flat-screen TVs.

An extensive, if pricey, supermarket is on-site for guests who wish to make their own meals. Many guests enjoy the pool's swim-up bar, and for activity seekers, there’s a desk offering sports gear and accessories, snorkeling equipment, bikes, beach towels, and board games. Tennis courts are lit after dark for evening play. A children’s activity room has a variety of games like darts. And the large gym houses a dozen or so exercise machines as well as free weights.
