Bottom Line

Manoir d'Auteuil is a charming bed and breakfast located in the heart of the Old City, housed in a historic building that was once a private home. Rooms are full of character and individually decorated, though some are more appealing than others. (They are mid-range, so expect a few less-than-charming details such as bland carpets.) Most of the bathrooms are clean and elegant, and suites have separate showers and soaking tubs -- but a few have odd layouts (such as a toilet right next to a bathtub) and overly bright colors. Additional perks here include free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, and a variety of room sizes to suit different budgets.

Le Manoir d’Auteuil

Location

Centrally located in the Old City

Manoir d'Auteuil is right in the heart of the Old City and within walking distance of many of its main tourist sites. The hotel faces Esplanade park and the upper floors have very nice views.

Quebec City is a historic, walled metropolis with the charm, history, and architecture of a European capital, all set at the top of Cape Diamond. The views out over the cliff are beautiful, as are the city's buildings and cathedrals. The city also has a healthy nightlife scene, and during the summer, the party goes on every night. The European feel and sensibility of the city mean that shopping is a worthy endeavor, especially in the boutiques of the Old City. But the weather in the winter is snowy and extremely cold.

  • 24-minute drive to Jean Lesage Airport
  • 7-minute walk to Citadel de Quebec -- the historic military base and city landmark
  • 8-minute walk to House of Parliament
  • 9-minute walk Notre-Dame de Quebec Cathedral (built in the 17th century)
  • 10-minute walk to nightlife central on Rue Saint-Jean
  • 14-minute walk to Place Royale
  • 14-minute walk to Maison Chevalier, a historic home to Jean Baptiste Chevalier and museum
  • 4-minute drive to Musee National des Beaux Arts
  • 4-minute drive to Battlefields Park where the British won control of Quebec
  • 5-minute drive to Musee de la Civilisation
  • 8-minute drive to Quartier du Petit Champlain -- the oldest commercial district in North America
