Novotel Surfers Paradise Hotel

There are plenty of modern elements throughout Novotel Surfers Paradise, including the spacious lobby with ample seating. Decor is a bit spare and not exactly cozy, but there are several outdoor areas for guests to take in the sunshine, including a putting green. On-site Hanlan's Restaurant has a small bar. The outdoor pool is a fine place to relax, with a few lounge chairs and a small grassy area off to the side. The hotel is popular with Asian and Australian tourists, particularly families and couples. 

Right in the middle of busy downtown Surfers Paradise, the Paradise Shopping Centre is next door to the hotel, as are souvenir shops and restaurants. The hotel is one block off of the Cavill Avenue shopping and entertainment area, and the Esplanade, a popular pedestrian thoroughfare along the beach that is filled with eateries and shops, is a five-minute walk from the property. The beach itself is one block from the hotel and takes less than five minutes to reach on foot. The airport can be reached in an hour using the tram and bus, though guests with cars can make the trip in 30 minutes. 

Guest rooms are a bit basic. Depending on the room category, rooms can be tight, particularly Standard Twin Rooms. All rooms have a flat-screen TV, a small balcony with plastic furniture, air-conditioning, an electric kettle, and a mini-fridge. Standard Rooms have small bathrooms with shower/tub combos and basic toiletries. Some higher-level bookings have bathrooms with walk-in showers with contemporary fixtures and spacious modern vanities.

The hotel offers a decent amount of features on site to keep guests busy, including a small outdoor pool with a hot tub that's surrounded by a few modern lounge chairs and green space. There are grass tennis courts on site, and a putting green, plus a terrace with tables and chairs. The on-site restaurant, Hanlan’s, has a seafood buffet in the evening and a breakfast buffet in the morning, though neither are included with bookings. The use of a small fitness center, with exercise bikes, treadmills, and weight machines, is included in the room price. Guest laundry and parking are available for a fee, and Wi-Fi use is not free here. There's conference and event space available and the hotel's front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. Cribs are free for guests with small children.
