Island Blue Hotel

The Island Blue Hotel is modern and sophisticated in a clean, uncluttered way. Everything about the hotel is large, from pools to patios to the beautiful cove reached via a lovely stone stairway lined with plants and colorful flowers. Decor is sleek but relaxed, with lots of rich wood, whitewash, stone, and bright painted punctuations of Greek island blue. There are comfortable couches and armchairs inside and out for relaxing or socializing, and everything is clean and new feeling. Nothing in the complex is designed to compete with the gorgeous mountain and ocean views, which gives the Island Blue Hotel a restful feeling.

The Island Blue Hotel is located just above a stunning cove beach, narrow and sandy, with sunbeds and beach umbrellas picturesquely lined up against the cliff face. The beach is a three-minute walk from the main hotel, and the Pefkos village center is six minutes away on foot, for guests who want to seek out local cuisine, souvenirs, or atmosphere. Lindos and its Acropolis are about two miles from the property. The town of Rhodes is a 45-minute drive, and the Rhodes International airport is 33 miles away.

Rooms at the Island Blue Hotel are spacious, uncluttered, and immaculately kept, with lots of light wood and pretty lighting that gives the spaces a golden glow. Colors are muted and serene. All rooms and apartments overlook the pools with the mountains or sea beyond, and each has a furnished balcony or, on the ground floor, large private terrace. Apartments have two burner cooktops, coffee/tea kettles, mini-fridges, and ample cookware and dishes. Bathrooms are large with lots of counter space, and enormous walk-in showers with great water pressure. There is a fee for use of in-room safes and Wi-Fi.

The Island Blue Hotel offers plenty of activities for kids, including a kids' club with a playground, a children's pool, and special kids' menus in the restaurants. For adults, there is nightly entertainment that includes karaoke, bingo and quizzes, Greek night, live music, and variety shows. There are two huge pools for guests. A large supermarket with food, souvenirs, and vacation supplies is located on the hotel grounds. There is a picturesque Greek wedding chapel with a bell tower and surrounding stone square, with wedding services and catering available through the hotel.

The Almyra Pool Bar is vast, with a wooden pavilion offering shade, and seating all the way up to the water's edge, with a pool table for the ambitious, and food and drink available all day long. During the day, major futbol (soccer) matches are broadcast in the pool bar; in the evening, the Elia bar becomes futbol central. The Elia Bar is slightly more upscale, with pretty lighting from dozens of suspended glass globes, and indoor and outdoor seating.
