Bottom Line

Hotel Corallo is a 99-room upscale beach property with a range of activities and services for families. Beach services include sailing trips, sun chairs and umbrellas, and a kids’ club, but are only offered May through September. Adults can indulge in the hotel's spa and wellness center, participate in weekly food and wine events, or grab the kids and head to one of the pools. Rooms are sophisticated, and though decor varies, all incorporate shades of beige and white; some have wood floors and ceilings. While the hotel has a few conference rooms and related services, the high number of children present may not be ideal to the business traveler.

Hotel Corallo

Scene

Upscale French Riviera style with contemporary decor and sea views

Marked from the main road by two flags and a zebra crossing, the Corallo is a large four-story building (plus rooftop garden deck) with fun and classy French Riviera style. White domes pop out from the roof, recessed balconies run across the three middle floors, and a large glassed walkway provides guests with easy and safe access to the beach across the main road. Inside there’s a mix of decorative carpets, wood floors, hanging glass chandeliers, marble stairs, and wood beam ceilings. Brown leather tub chairs fill the lobby where big archways can be found. Sculptures and vases act as decoration.

While the Corallo has tons of style, it is not particularly designed for lounging around or social activities. The only space for mingling is the pool bar, which is a moderate sized area with a modest selection of libations. Some guests have noted that certain areas of the hotel are showing signs of wear and tear.

Location

Off of the main road, across the street from a large private beach

The hotel is located directly on Viale Milano, one of Riccione's busy main roads. As Riccione is an Eastern Riviera party town, most tourists come here for a sand and sea holiday and will thus find Hotel Corallo's close proximity to the beach pleasing and convenient. The hotel has agreements with two large nearby beaches for guest access and provides a safe walkway across Viale Milano to the closest one, which lies in front of the property. Federico Fellini International Airport is only a 12-minute drive northwest.

Rooms

Variety of stylish, contemporary rooms and suites, including plenty of family spaces

The Corallo has 99 rooms and suites, including 36 family-style suites, all with upscale, contemporary decor, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Details vary depending on the type of room you book, with suites typically having slightly more chic decor elements that may include decorative headboards, wood ceilings or wall panels, bathrobes and slippers, and heated towel racks. All decor is based off a neutral color scheme with natural wood and dark brown accents. Family amenities that can be added range from goodnight stories and night lights to socket protectors, cots, and bottle warmers.

Features

Access to two large beaches and a hydrotherapy wellness spa; kid-friendly services available too

As Hotel Corallo does not have its own beach, the owners have worked out agreements with two nearby beaches for guest use. Both are large and equipped with sun chairs, umbrellas, and changing rooms. Other features include a dedicated children's play area at the beach closest to the hotel where a mini-club gathers in the mornings and hosts activities. Adults have a relaxation area with magazines, a selection of games, and showers.

Back at the hotel, there’s a large and stylish outdoor swimming pool open during the summer months, and a big indoor whirlpool that’s part of the hotel spa. Designed with the principles of hydrotherapy in mind, the spa is a place to not only relax with a cup of tea or a massage treatment, but to experience the healing powers of water. Guests can bathe in the spa's Scottish shower, sweat it out in the Finnish sauna and Turkish baths, or feel the chill from ice cascades.

For food, half- and full-board options are available through the Corallo's Mediterranean-style buffet restaurant, and breakfast can be served in your room. There are also special kids’ menus and even a kids’ restaurant with fun food plating.

Free Wi-Fi and parking are also available.
