Bottom Line

The 68-room Gioberti Art Hotel is a modern, upper-middle-range property set just a couple minutes' walk from Roma Termini train station. Although a bit of a walk to top sights -- 22 minutes to Trevi Fountain and about 30 to Villa Borghese -- nearby trains and ample restaurants are convenient. Attractive rooms are a decent size for Rome and include desks, minibars, ample wardrobe space, air-conditioning, and modern bathrooms with rainfall showers and hairdryers. Rooms are quiet. There's little else on-site, aside from a breakfast room with free continental spreads. Wi-Fi is also free. Travelers wanting to be closer to tourist attractions may prefer Hotel Scalinata Di Spagna, which has a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city.

Gioberti Art Hotel

Scene

Sleek, modern hotel near main train station

Occupying a 19th-century building, Gioberti Art Hotel opened in 2015 after a renovation. Interiors are sleek and modern, with eye-catching color palettes and artwork. The small lobby has red velvet sofas, black-leather chairs, and striking stone head sculptures. An elevator or stairs are available to the six floors, the top of which houses the hotel's only real feature -- the breakfast room. Although there's little on-site, the hotel is quiet and well-located for those traveling via the nearby Roma Termini train station. This is a suitable pick for both business and leisure travelers.

Those wanting to be in the area but have the added benefit of a rooftop terrace and gym should consider Hotel Nord Nuova Roma. For a nearby luxury option, look into Palazzo Naiadi, The Dedica Anthology, which has a spa, chic Champagne bar, elegant rooms, and a terrace overlooking Rome.
