Some find ornate decor a bit gaudy (Deluxe rooms have slightly more modern decor)
Situated in Rome's historic city center, the elegant Hotel Andreotti is situated just steps away from Termini Train Station as well as various restaurants and sights. The boutique hotel's rooms are decorated -- like the lobby -- in an ornate, classic style featuring rich colors and antique furniture. However, some may find it a bit stuffy and dated. Both Wi-Fi and a breakfast buffet are free, but there are few on-site amenities aside from these.
Scene
Situated in an elegant, historical building
Entering from a narrow
street, guests will be immediately taken by the beautiful lobby here. It’s outfitted
with antique furniture and rich colors, making it seem regal and old-fashioned -- although some find it verging on gaudy.
The classic decor elements include a red patterned carpet, brass colored
details, and an exposed antique-looking wire elevator. A sitting room has
velvet couches and high-back chairs in purple, rose, and green. Glass chandeliers
hang from the high ceilings with crown molding. While the hotel has a convenient location for both business and leisure travelers, most who stay here are couples who enjoy the refined atmosphere.
Location
In the center of Rome right by Termini Train Station
The hotel is situated in a
very busy area full of restaurants, cafes, bars, and stores. Plenty
of Rome’s most famous tourist attractions are within walking distance, including
the Baths of Diocletian and Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels. The Spanish Steps, Colosseum, and Trevi Fountain are all within 20 minutes of the hotel. It’s
also just a few hundred meters from the Termini Train Station, making public
transportation to the rest of the city easily accessible. Termini Station has a
direct connection to Fiumicino Airport via the Air Terminal. This prime
location is ideal for both tourists and business travelers.
Rooms
Comfortable and ornate rooms with modern facilities
The 50-some rooms here are cozy
and elegant, decorated in a classic style with attention to details. The decor
has a regal feel with rich colors and antique furniture, but some rooms feel more dated than others. There are patterned
wallpapers and deep red carpets. Select rooms are decorated in a more modern
manner with hardwood floors, sophisticated fabrics, and unique pieces of
furniture. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs, safes, coffee/tea kettles,
and mini-fridges. Private bathrooms have extras like bidets and bath products. Room categories include single, double or twin, superior, deluxe, triple, or
suite. The suite is located on the top floor and features a living room
separated from the bedroom. All of the rooms are soundproofed.
Features
Few features, but nice freebies such as buffet breakfast and Wi-Fi
The hotel’s prime feature is
the free breakfast buffet served daily in an elegant breakfast room. An ornate
hanging chandelier is the star of the room. There are long tables with
high-back white chairs, dark-wood paneled furniture, and light curtains. The
breakfast includes both hot and cold items, and gluten-free options are
available by request. A wood-paneled bar sits in the lobby for guests to enjoy a
drink or snack at one of the high-top tables surrounding it. There is another
ornate chandelier there. The 24-hour front desk has newspapers, photocopying
abilities, and laundry services for a fee. Wi-Fi is free.
