Bottom Line

The upper-middle-range Hotel Mancino 12 is a boutique hotel in Rome's historic city center, within walking distance of many top tourist sites like the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. Completely refurbished and reopened in 2012, the 14-room property has a sleek, modern design, and attracts tourists and couples with its romantic rooms and central location. There’s no restaurant or bar on-site, but a breakfast is served in the morning for a fee. The chic rooms have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and minibars, plus some have separate living rooms and lovely furnished patios. While the rooms are pleasant, they lack coffee- and tea-making facilities. Travelers seeking something with more on-site amenities might want to consider Leon’s Place Hotel, which offers free breakfast, a spa, cafe, and a fitness center.

Hotel Mancino 12

Scene

Intimate, classy hotel with elegant interiors drawing tourists -- mainly couples

Set within a tan stone building with black shutters, the Hotel Mancino 12 is an elegant hotel that isn’t completely noticeable from the outside. After 10 years of closure, the hotel underwent a renovation and reopened in 2012 as a classy and romantic hotel that attracts tourists, especially couples. As for the interior, it’s sleek and contemporary with dark wooden floors, arched entryways, and a classy gray and black color scheme. The breakfast room -- which doubles as the lobby -- has red velour loveseats and footstools, dark gray tables, and bold abstract art pieces on the walls. Throughout, this property has a stark and vivid style.
