Bottom Line

Located in a more relaxed, residential neighborhood north of the city center, not far from Mussolini's villa (now a museum), the 74-room Hotel Santa Costanza is a mid-range, pet-friendly hotel with all the requisite modern amenities. Classic and rather basic rooms have hardwood floors, flat-screen TVs, and air-conditioning, as well as marble bathrooms; some have small private balconies overlooking the city or with garden views, but many also have thin walls that result in loud hallway noise traveling into rooms. Breakfast is included in all rates and there is a lobby bar, but the hotel lacks a full restaurant. There's a small internet corner in the lobby, and free Wi-Fi throughout. There are nearby bus and metro stops, but most major attractions are approximately a 20-minute drive away. There is no on-site parking; guests must use a local lot with a fee.

Hotel Santa Costanza

Scene

A modern, somewhat bland hotel that’s well-maintained and clean

The Hotel Santa Costanza is a simple, modern, mid-range hotel in a concrete block building on a major street. The rather large lobby is decorated with marble floors, red and tan couches and armchairs, recessed lighting, large windows, and a wood front desk. The lobby bar -- an extension of the sitting area, which also has a flat-screen TV -- is a natural wood kiosk with a green granite counter. Potted plants and large windows also decorate the area. The breakfast room is decorated with marble tile floors, cushioned wooden chairs, blue tablecloths, and exposed beams; the room gets lots of natural light, too. Outside, a small garden, filled with plants and flowers, has some seating, as well.
