Bottom Line

Located with walking distance of Termini Railway Station, the three-and-a-half-pearl Smart Hotel Roma is well situated for tourists and business travelers. Opened in 2013, it has a streamlined style with notable modern amenities. Its 64 rooms are sleek and clean with stylish bathrooms, smart TVs, and minibars, but some can be a bit small. A well-reviewed breakfast buffet is included, and the hotel has a restaurant and bar serving drinks and coffee throughout the day and evening. One conference room is available for meetings. The hotel has no gym or other features and rooms lack coffee/tea facilities. Travelers interested in a similarly located hotel with homier (but still modern) decor could consider the UNA Hotel Roma, which has comparable amenities at moderately higher rates.

Scene

Refined modern hotel with contemporary design and splashes of pink

The decor of Smart Hotel Roma is modern with a hint of sweetness thanks to clean lines and a refreshing palette of white, gray, and pink throughout. Its facade is almost like a small office building with the upper two-thirds made of glass and the bottom third lined with layers of light brown stone. Green and white chevron tiles lead to the front doors. Inside, the walls are smoky gray and the reception desk bone-white. Raspberry-colored couches and tall glass vases filled with flowers punctuate the demure color scheme. The restaurant and bar also have similar hues with gray wood tables and chairs set off by pale pink placemats. Likewise, the on-site meeting room is pretty low-key with gray and pink decor. Guests are typically tourist couples or business travelers drawn to the convenient location and efficient in-room amenities.

In the Castro Pretorio district, a short walk from Termini Rail Station

The Castro Pretorio district, where the Smart Roma Hotel is located, is filled with the hustle and bustle of tourists during the day and relaxes into a calmer atmosphere at night. Rooms

Stylish and sleek rooms (some on the small side) with minibars and smart TVs

Like the rest of the Smart Roma Hotel, the 64 guest rooms are decorated in white, gray, and fuchsia. Rooms come in a range of sizes, from classic Double and Twin Rooms to Deluxe options (including Family and Triple Rooms) and Junior Suites. The walls are smoky gray, giving an urbane aura. White leather benches with pink pillows provide a splashy note of color. Each room also has a sleek white desk with a pink chair and a minibar tucked underneath. Room service menus are on each desk, but there are no coffee/tea facilities. In-room tech includes free Wi-FI and smart TVs with Wi-Fi connectivity and built-in city guides. Safes are provided.

As the rooms grow, so do the lounging and work spaces. Even the suites, though, aren't quite as spacious as many other upscale hotels. Bathrooms are gray tile with deep vessel sinks and bidets. In smaller rooms, the bathrooms are shower stall only; larger ones also have jetted tubs. Toiletry sets and hairdryers are provided.
