Hallways are decorated in floral wallpaper and carpeting and there's a narrow, old-fashioned elevator and a staircase with wooden railings. A fireplace parlor is decorated in comfy sofas; free water, coffee, tea, bottled water, board games and cookies are provided in the afternoon. Happy hour is also held in the parlor, with free evening wine and hors d'oeuvres.

Both hotels share a block with a market, cafes, and restaurants; Union Square is four blocks away. The Powell-Market cable car turnaround and the Westfield San Francisco Centre, with affordable and high-end shopping, are both a short walk away. It’s 10 minutes by cable car to Chinatown, while Fisherman's Wharf is 10 minutes by car or 25 minutes by cable car. The San Francisco International Airport is a 25-minute drive.
