1

Luxx Hotel

Downtown Santa Fe, Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States

The Luxx Hotel is a boutique property in the heart of Santa Fe that offers a prime location and an arty ambience. Each guest room is decorated differently, with eclectic furnishings that have a contemporary, Asian-inspired feel. The large flat-screen TVs with Internet capabilities and Blu-ray players are upsides, but the hotel lacks standard amenities such as a fitness center or pool. Also, the property has a self-service vibe, with no valets, porters, or room service available -- and sometimes no staff on hand at all. The tradeoff for lack of service is the price -- rates here tend to be among the most affordable available this close to the Plaza.

2

Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe

Downtown Santa Fe, Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States

With a hard-to-beat location next to the Plaza, this upper-middle-range property is within walking distance of Santa Fe's top attractions. Its restaurant and bar offer outdoor seating with good views of the busy street, and the lobby features authentic art from the nearby village of Chimayó. However, this three-story boutique hotel lacks a fitness center or pool -- and not all of the rooms can be accessed from the elevator. Still, rates are very competitive considering the location and the large, attractive rooms with New Mexico style decor.

3

Hotel Santa Fe

Guadalupe/Railyard District

The upper-middle-range Hotel Santa Fe and Spa offers 128 Southwestern-themed rooms and suites within walking distance of the Plaza. Along with its sister property, the Hacienda (located next door), the Hotel Santa Fe is the only hotel in town owned by Native Americans, and the Native theme is handsomely on display throughout -- you can even arrange a private teepee dinner through the hotel restaurant, Amaya. With perks like free parking, free shuttle service, and access to the upscale Hacienda's pool, spa, restaurant, and fitness center, the Hotel Santa Fe provides a great value.

4

Old Santa Fe Inn

Downtown Santa Fe, Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States

The Old Santa Fe Inn is a mid-range property with an upscale feel, thanks to perks such as a free breakfast burrito bar, afternoon cookies, and Starbucks coffee. Guest rooms look clean and fresh, with earthy color schemes and rustic wood furnishings that make for an authentic Santa Fe vibe. The property's prime location is another draw, as it stands just three blocks from the Plaza. Even though it's among the most reasonably priced hotels in the downtown area, the Old Santa Fe Inn exudes the charm and regional spirit of its more expensive -- and historic -- competitors. And the freebies are endless -- aside from the free breakfast (complete with burrito bar) the free afternoon cookies, and the free Starbucks coffee, the hotel also offers free Wi-Fi, free parking, and free BBQ on select evenings.
