Channel Road Inn – A Four Sisters Inn

Scene

Charming, historic inn set in a building dating to 1910 with a country-home atmosphere

Channel Road Inn - A Four Sisters Inn is located on a leafy residential street and set in a garden of trees and flowering plants. This three-story house dates back to 1910 and was built in a Colonial Revival style. It was abandoned for many years before being restored and transformed into a bed and breakfast in 1989. The facade is covered in blue shingles and window frames are painted white, and there's a red-brick veranda next to the entrance. The house retains many original period details including an oak front door and a fireplace featuring vintage Batchelder tiles.

The interiors have the look and feel of a country home, and in many ways, it feels more like a private residence than a hotel. There's a cozy sitting area with bookshelves with old-fashioned photographs and objets d'art, a few plush chairs, and a comfortable sofa upholstered in blue-and-white-striped fabric. French doors open up to the sun room which is furnished with white wicker chairs and sofas. Floors are covered in hardwood, with matching wood paneling on the walls of the corridors. Most guests staying here are vacationing couples.
