Bottom Line

Best Western Las Condes, which finished construction in 2010, is an uncommonly modern, stylish member of the Best Western family. Rooms feature sleek decor, wood furnishings, well-stocked minibars, flat-screen TVs, and contemporary bathrooms; some have great views. Free breakfast and Wi-Fi are standard perks at the Best Westerns, but Premier Marina Las Condes' glamorous rooftop pool, well-equipped fitness center, and cute street-side cafe exceed expectations. And with Santiago's best shopping just five minutes away, this Best Western is made (and priced) for a more upscale crowd.

Best Western Premier Marina Las Condes

Location

In the posh neighborhood of Las Condes

Best Western Premier Marina is located in the upper-middle-class suburb of Las Condes. The area is home to some of Santiago's best shopping and has earned the nickname "Sanhattan" because of the posh retailers on Avenue Apoquindo, which runs through most of Las Condes. The hotel is also a five-minute stroll to Manquehue subway station, which is located on the famous street, making it a convenient home base from which to see Santiago.

Santiago has long been known as a stopover city used only for connections to other more exciting sites in South America, but it has begun gaining ground as a sophisticated metropolis. Once a purely economic and political center for Chile, it has now given way to increasingly respected dining, great shopping, and lots of bike paths. With a decent underground system, a competitive nightlife, and proximity to the Andes for skiing, Santiago has a lot to offer.

  • 31-minute drive to Arturo Merino Benitez Airport
  • 4-minute drive to Teatro Municipal, a historical theater
  • 5-minute walk to Manquehue subway station
  • 8-minute drive to La Chascona, one of the homes of famous poet Pablo Neruda
  • 11-minute drive to Parque Metropolitano and the funicular to great views of the city
  • 13-minute drive to Metropolitan cathedral
  • 13-minute drive to Parque Forestal, a Mapacho riverside park that contains the Museum of Fine Art and the Modern Art Museum
  • 15-minute drive to Piojera, famous watering hole for poets and officials alike
  • 18-minute drive to Le Moneda Palace -- Presidential Palace
  • 18-minute drive to Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda, a cultural center with art exhibitions and local crafts
  • 19-minute drive to the famous Club de Jazz
  • 20-minute drive to Santiago Centro or downtown
  • 32-minute drive to the Museum of Memory and Human Rights
