Hotel del Patio is a renovated boutique hotel (some would say hostel) that was once a historic country mansion. Guests (including many backpackers) have access to the lively Barrio Bellavista, which is filled with authentic shops, restaurants, and bars (though it can be noisy at night). The hotel only has 10 rooms that are situated around a central yard, and there is a neat terrace with mountain views; in fact, some rooms come with a private patio. Made from the native wood of southern Chile, the original roofing and flooring have been preserved, and creaking floors will quickly reveal the age. Contemporary rooms in vibrant colors come in standard, superior, and triple size, and they have tall ceilings, small bathrooms, and flat-screen TVs. This is a good value for a young and fun crowd, especially when factoring in the free breakfast buffet and Wi-Fi.
Location
In the heart of Barrio Bellavista -- a hub of restaurants and bars
Santiago, with seven million people, is a fast-growing city located in the central valley of Chile between mountains and the coast. This boutique hotel/hostel is located in the Barrio Bellavista section of the Providencia neighborhood, a distinctive area filled with authentic shops, restaurants, and nightlife. This also means that the neighborhood can be noisy at night for guests who want an uninterrupted night of sleep. The primary downtown area of Santiago is located just to the west of this neighborhood (reachable by metro). Buses are modern and run round-the-clock; the metro system has 94 stations; and Baquedano Metro Station is a short walk away.- 23-minute drive to Santiago International Airport (Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez)
