Due to the many steps and cliff drops, kids aren't allowed at the property, which mostly consists of nine guest rooms and a small outdoor pool. Cycladic-style rooms are individually decorated and both views and layouts vary, but all units include an indoor whirlpool tub. Some rooms feature an outdoor whirlpool as well. Perks include a free breakfast with Greek pastries, free Wi-Fi, and hands-on staff. The nearby Astra Suites is a similar property but it has the added benefit of a heated infinity-edge pool.

The whitewashed buildings and many steps leading to rooms and the pool are typical of the area. This is a smaller property and there isn't space for a traditional reception area or public areas apart from the pool. Instead, guests are greeted on an outdoor terrace area (with dramatic ocean views) under an awning. Due to the no kids allowed policy and lack of on-site features, the boutique hotel is peaceful and quiet. Most guests, lots of international honeymooners, spend their days exploring Santorini.

Aeolos Studios & Suites can be confusing to find, mostly because the sign in front of the steps leading down to the hotel is labeled Aeolos Villas and once down the steps, there isn't a traditional lobby or reception area. Still, the location in the village of Imerovigli means walkable access to restaurants, shops, and ATM machines, without the huge crush of crowds found in nearby Oia and Fira. Fira is the closer of the two villages, at about a 12-minute drive. Oia is farther north, at about a 20-minute drive. It's about a 15-minute drive to Santorini's airport.

Some rooms have faux fireplaces. The color palette is usually white with a few neutral accents, and sweet touches like candles and seashells. Each of the rooms has a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Most rooms have a burner and a sink for guests that want to do some cooking. Note that some of the bathrooms don't have affixed showerheads, just the large whirlpool tub and a shower wand.
