Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo

From the outside, the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo blends in well with the numerous corporate towers in the immediate neighborhood, and its interiors fit the expectations of luxury business travelers.The lobby is large and imposing, with light streaming in through floor-to-ceiling windows, and decoration is restricted to light-wood beams and marble countertops. The Grand Hyatt attracts some tourists and lots of business travelers, the latter as a result of the hotel's location near the domestic airport and in a part of town with lots of office buildings. As a result, the gym can get crowded in the mornings, and the restaurants and bars tend to fill up with business travelers rather than locals. Guests staying in Grand Club Rooms -- a popular option for those traveling on an expense account -- have access to the Grand Club Lounge, which feels especially business-oriented as a result.

The Grand Hyatt is located in the Berrini area, a 10-minute walk from the Morumbi train station. It's on a major thoroughfare in a part of town with a lot of corporate offices. There's a fair bit of commerce within walking distance, some of which is aimed at businesspeople, as well as the enormous Morumbi Shopping Center, with plenty of shopping and dining. The Museum of Art of Sao Paulo takes just under 20 minutes to reach by car. The Sao Paulo International Airport is a 45-minute drive away and the Congonhas Airport, the city's domestic airport, is only 15 minutes away. The hotel offers airport transportation services.

There are three types of rooms at the Grand Hyatt: Standard, Grand Club, and Suite. All have standard business-luxury decor in neutral shades of cream and tan, punctuated with blonde-wood furnishings. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the city, and rooms on higher floors (including some Standards) have views of the Sao Paolo skyline, the Pinheiros River, and the Octávio Frias de Oliveira Bridge. Rooms and suites come in a variety of bed configurations and have flat-screen TVs, large safes, minibars, and coffeemakers. Grand Club Rooms also have DVD players and come with free Wi-Fi and use of the Grand Club Lounge, which has a private concierge and serves a free breakfast, evening cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres. Suites have all the features and inclusions of Grand Club Rooms, but with larger TVs and separate bedrooms.

The fitness center at the Grand Hyatt is the size of a small gym, with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, exercise bikes, and a large range of modern weight machines. The spa is equally impressive and offers a variety of treatments -- including couples' massages -- and a large sauna. The hotel has seven bars and restaurants, including a wine library, Japanese restaurant, French restaurant, and several more casual eateries and watering holes that serve classic Brazilian drinks. Wi-Fi and parking (including valet service) are available for a fee. There's also a Grand Club Lounge for guests staying in Suites and Grand Club Rooms, an indoor lap pool, and an outdoor pool with built-in waterfalls and plenty of lounge chairs.
