T Hotel

The tinted glass exterior of the 14-story T Hotel acts as a mirror, reflecting Cagliari's usually blue sky as well as the sleek interior of the hotel. The open-plan lobby is designed in an avant-garde Jetsons-esque style, with large lighted coned pillars and corridors that feature artwork by Sardinians. The lustrous marble floors and streamlined furniture in the common areas are well-maintained. Smells from the bakery in the T Restaurant, which has modern orange leather seating and frosted glass table tops, often waft in to the common areas. There are four meeting rooms and ample seating areas, including a fashionable terrace with a blue tiled moat and cacti in bright pots.

The T Hotel is located on the fringes of central Cagliari, near public transport. The Tower of San Pancrazio is 11 minutes via the Line 6 bus and Torre dell'Elefante is 16 minutes by bus. The city’s nightlife is close by with Spera Locura, a shot bar, a six-minute taxi ride away. It’s a 15-minute walk to the National Archaeological Museum and one minute to the Cagliari Lyric Theatre. The San Benedetto Market takes just over 10 minutes on foot. The airport is a 10-minute drive. The stunning Island of San Pietro is two and a half hours by car and ferry.

The exterior architecture of the T Hotel means each room has angular walls and large windows that allow natural light to flood in. Rooms range from smaller Classic Rooms to Panoramic Suites. All are spacious, with pops of plum, red, green, or orange, and are decorated with sleek furniture and modern trimmings. All rooms come with electronic safes, writing desks, slippers, and free Wi-Fi. Classic Rooms have old-fashioned box TVs and some rooms have stationary exercise bikes. Bathrooms are bright and equipped with bidets and modern fixtures. A Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii can be rented from reception.

The T Hotel's luxurious amenities may help make up for its relatively removed location. An indoor pool, which can be used for a fee, is trimmed in white rocks and reflects neon lights from its ceiling. The attached T Spa is small, with modern furnishings. The hotel's four bright meeting rooms have audiovisual equipment and orange chairs. A modern, well-lit gym features a stylish flat-screen TV inset into glass, weights, and cardio machines, each of which has its own individual mini-TV. The hotel’s bar is built around a coned pillar of light, with black booths and orange leather seating. There’s also a similarly designed on-site restaurant, a terrace, and a room where a free breakfast is served.
