Scene
Charming, classic hotel
Guests expecting a run-of-the-mill chain hotel will be pleasantly surprised by this Hampton Inn. The property offers all the basics of a chain hotel -- including a fitness center and a business center -- but features elegant, classic decor with lots of wood and a few Southern touches. The lobby is a large, bright space with wooden floors, dark wood paneled pillars, plush rugs, plenty of seating, and a brick fireplace. Exposed brick walls and vintage touches, such as a rotary telephone and classic ceiling lamps, add some historic charm to the common spaces.
Location
In the heart of the historic district, near restaurants, shops, and attractions
The Hampton Inn is located on Bay Street, right in the heart of Savannah’s historic district and a couple of blocks from the Savannah River. Guests can find a wide array of bars, shops, and restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Major attractions such as the historic Reynolds Square, the City Market, and the Telfair Museum can also be reached on foot. Popular trolleys stop right outside the hotel and the Convention Center is right across the river from the hotel.
Rooms
Spacious rooms with classic decor
Rooms at the Hampton Inn are large, bright, and fairly elegant, with muted floral curtains, classic wood furniture, cream walls, and an armchair or pull-out couch. Rooms come either with two double beds, a king, or a queen, and all feature flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, microwaves, coffeemakers, and empty mini-fridges. Perks for business travelers include wooden work desks with ergonomic chairs and lap desks. Bathrooms have granite countertops, shower/tub combos with curved shower rods for added space, and Neutrogena toiletries. In-room safes are not available (but safety deposit boxes are available for guest use at the front desk).
