Bottom Line

The Kehoe House is quaint, historic inn housed in a beautifully restored 1892 mansion. The 13 rooms are all elegant and classic (without feeling fussy or dated), with antique-style wood furniture, decorative fireplaces, hardwood floors, and chandeliers. Most have a large veranda overlooking tree-lined Columbia Square. There are few amenities, but freebies galore (free Wi-Fi, cooked-to-order breakfast), and the location in the Historic District is hard to beat.

The Kehoe House – A Boutique Inn

Location

On the northern part of the Historic District, within walking distance to many attractions

The Kehoe House is located on a quiet tree-lined square on the northern part of Savannah’s Historic District. Though mainly residential, there are quite a few restaurants and bars within walking distance, and many major tourist attractions can be reached on foot.

Savannah's Historic District is the reason to visit Savannah -- it has that old Southern charm, with numerous parks and tons of well-kept, architecturally stunning historic buildings. The nightlife isn't as lively as other big cities in the South, but most of Savannah's bars (such as infamous Pinkie Master's) are in the historic district, mostly thanks to the young crowd from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

The Historic District is bordered by the Savannah River and Forsyth Park, and includes the Riverfront and City Market areas. Riverfront is a (somewhat) recently revitalized area, with restaurants, galleries, shops, and bars. City Market is a more diverse and casual version of Riverfront, with lots of live music and vendors selling Savannah-made ware.

  • 22-minute drive to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport
  • 2-minute walk to various restaurants and bars in the Historic District
  • 9-minute walk to Telfair Museum of Art
  • 10-minute walk to City Market, a casual eating scene
  • 12-minute walk to the Savannah College of Art and Design
  • 15-minute walk to Forsythe Park, one of Savannah's most popular public spaces
  • 15-minute walk to King-Tisdell Cottage, the Museum of Black History
  • 17-minute walk to Roundhouse Railroad Museum
  • 7-minute drive to The Savannah Golf Club
