Some rooms are close to the highway and can be noisy
While not exactly downtown, this no-frills, family-friendly hotel is fairly convenient to the attractions at Seattle Center, including the Space Needle, and the core of downtown Seattle is a short monorail or bus ride away. The location might be off-putting to some guests, as State Highway 99 borders the eastern edge of the property and ongoing road construction in the area can make rooms noisy. Although the hotel provides earplugs, light sleepers might want to request a room on the opposite side. Guests familiar with Starwood properties might not find this Four Points up to par, but the cozy and colorful hotel, with a 24-hour gym and business amenities, is generally a good value.
Scene
Clean, colorful spot for families and business travelers
The hotel is clean and colorful, with some cheerful touches, including decorations during the holiday seasons. The decor is pleasant and fairly modern, with gray geometric patterned carpeting, stone walls, boxy shelving units and bright throw pillows in many of the common areas. There's a stone fireplace in the lobby and a second one in the outdoor courtyard, a nicely landscaped area with a fountain and contemporary wicker furniture. A third fireplace can be found in the aptly named Fireside Cafe. The property attracts both business travelers and tourists eager to be close to the city's best-known attractions.
Location
By a highway, a short walk to Seattle Center
The Four Points by Sheraton sits on the western edge of the South Lake Union neighborhood, with State Highway 99 just to the east. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is devoid of pedestrian-friendly retail, but there are some restaurants a few blocks away. It’s a 10-minute walk to Seattle Center, home to attractions including the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, and the Experience Music Project. Downtown Seattle, and Pike’s Place Market, is around 20 minutes via public transportation or a 30-minute walk away. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel without traffic.
Rooms
Spacious and modern rooms with a retro look
The 158 rooms and suites have been recently renovated with a somewhat retro style that deviates from the other areas of the hotel. There’s beige plaid carpeting and wooden furniture that, while in good condition, is a little on the cheap-looking side. The spacious bathrooms are much nicer, and have wood vanities with smooth white tops and large curtained shower/tub combos with built-in shampoo and soap dispensers. Deluxe Rooms have spacious walk-in showers. In-room amenities include flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, safes, irons and ironing boards, and hairdryers. There are kitchenettes with small sinks, microwaves, and mini-fridges in the suites. Some rooms have views of the Space Needle.
