From the outside, GreenTree Inn Sedona has a typical Red Rock country feel, with rustic brown exteriors and sandy gardens with a few hardy plants bringing some life to the front of the hotel. The parking lot is directly outside of the rooms. The lobby is small, with nothing noteworthy in terms of decor, and includes a small business center, numerous stands for tourist brochures, and a simple wooden reception desk. Just off the lobby is the breakfast area, which is also quite small and gets overcrowded in the mornings. Luckily there is also a small seating area outside that guests can overflow into when the breakfast area is full. There are views of the red rocks, though only from a few rooms on the north side of the property. Hotel guests are mostly couples and families looking for a budget-friendly and comfortable place to stay while exploring the area.

GreenTree Inn Sedona is located in the heart of Red Rock Country, in the village of Oak Creek Sedona. It is situated on Highway 89A, one of the busiest roads going through Sedona, with a high level of traffic passing by. There is a residential neighborhood to the rear of the hotel, which is otherwise surrounded by neighboring businesses. A handful of dining and shopping options are within walking distance. Some of the areas most popular hiking trails are within a short drive, including the start of the Chimney Rock Trail which is a 16-minute drive away. Scenic Oak Creek Canyon, which has fishing and swimming spots, is about a 17-minute drive away. Grand Canyon National Park is two-and-a-half-hours away by car. Nearby cities include Cottonwood (25-minute drive) and Flagstaff (hour- and 10-minute drive). Sedona Airport is six minutes by car.

The 66 guest rooms at GreenTree Inn Sedona are standard with mostly outdated interiors. Decor is kept to the bare minimum: generic wooden furniture, patterned-carpeted floors, plain white walls, brown curtains, and white bed linens. The King Bed Suite's are the only rooms with private balconies, along with a separate lounge with sleeper sofa and more spacious kitchenette area. All rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, microwaves, mini-fridges, tea- and- coffee-making facilities, irons and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include a shower/tub combo, along with a hairdryer and eco-friendly toiletries. The King Bed Suite features a separate shower and tub. For the best views of the red rocks, book a room on the second floor on the northern side of the building.

Considering its budget-friendly rates, GreenTree Inn Sedona offers a fair amount of features, with a couple of freebies thrown in. However, guests are charged a daily hotel service fee. There's a free buffet breakfast each morning, including hot and cold options like cereal, oats, eggs, toast, and muffins. The breakfast area is quite small and gets overcrowded. There is no full restaurant or bar, though there is free tea and coffee available in the lobby. Outside, there is a seasonal swimming pool and hot tub with a few surrounding sun loungers and parasols. The lobby features a small business center with internet-connected computers and copying and printing facilities. On-site parking (including space for buses and RV's) and Wi-Fi throughout the property are free. Additional features include a 24-hour reception desk and an ice machine.
