An imposing rectangular edifice, the Meliá has a see-through metal facade that looks industrial and obscures the view from individual guest rooms a bit. Much of the lobby has the sterile look of an office building or shopping mall, with mirrored ceilings and an indoor rock garden with a waterfall. Other parts of the hotel have a more modern, distinct personality, like the Magnum Club, with its black ceiling and space age vibe. Still other areas look like they would have been trendy decades ago. The pool area is one of the most attractive parts of the property, surrounded by a gray deck and curtained sun beds.

The hotel is located down the block from the Santa Justa train station in a busy commercial area filled with bars, restaurants, and shops. It’s 10 to 15 minutes via public transportation and around 20 minutes by foot to the city's historic center and tourist attractions, including the large Seville Cathedral, the waffle-like wooden Metropol Parasol, and the Museum of Fine Arts. The airport is about 10 to 15 minutes northeast by car, or 30 minutes by bus.

The 437 air-conditioned rooms at the Meliá offer a mix of options, ranging from Classic units with two single beds to an Executive Junior Suite to Family spaces. Premium rooms and suites have been renovated with a modern look, with lots of black, white, and metal, while other spaces have dated wallpaper and carpeting. Family rooms each have a separate area with colorful bedding and amenities, including chocolate milk and cookies at bedtime. The dark green marble bathrooms have shower/tub combos. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, and hairdryers, while higher-level units come with amenities such as stereos and Nespresso machines.

The hotel has a swimming pool that’s relatively large when compared with the pools of other Seville hotels; however, it’s open to the public, so it can get crowded in the afternoons. The Meliá's pool area has a bar, and the property also has a tavern, a swanky lounge, a disco, and a restaurant that serves a well-stocked buffet breakfast. Room service is available as well. The needs of business travelers are well met here, as the hotel has several meeting rooms, including one that can hold 550 people, and a business center equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi.
