The lobby is home to original stone arches, a minimalist brown leather couch, and serene white walls. Beautiful historic photos decorate the walls of the breakfast room and the authentic wood on the ceiling adds character and charm. There’s also a chandelier in the breakfast room and -- despite lacking windows -- the area is bright and cozy. A small garden provides some outdoor space for summer dining and there’s free coffee, tea, and newspapers. This hotel does an excellent job of incorporating antique heritage with contemporary style, resulting in a stylish and peaceful atmosphere.

There is a prison across the street, but many guests report that the area nonetheless feels very safe. The Regional Gallery, Teatro Massimo, and Cathedral of Palermo are under a 10-minute drive away, but public transportation can get you to any sights around Palermo.

Even though most bathrooms only have walk-in showers, they are extraordinary with gorgeous tile, rainfall showerheads, and colored mood lighting. Each bathroom has a different color of tile, but all are large, contemporary, and well designed. Heated towel racks, bidets, and L’Occitane amenities are in all bathrooms.
