Bottom Line

Built at the end of the 19th century, this 49-room family-owned Sicilian villa was one of the first hotels in Taormina. This charming hotel, which is suitable for couples, large groups, and families, has a homey, inviting atmosphere reflected in it's cozy decor, welcoming bars (one is poolside), and comfortable reading room and library with game tables, a computer corner, plentiful seating, and spectacular views. There is a beautiful outdoor pool, a light-filled restaurant, and lush gardens covering the property. The rooms and suites are on the small side but have furnished balconies or terraces. The two Studio Apartments on the property are more starkly modern and, unlike the hotel rooms and suites, can be rented year-round.

Hotel Villa Belvedere

Scene

A traditional Sicilian villa with a cozy, homey vibe

This hotel is situated in a traditional Sicilian villa, with a faded yellow exterior that overlooks the Bay of Naxos. The front lobby is cozy and charming, with floral printed couches, wood furniture, and large glass doors that open onto a balcony. The interior of the hotel has a very homey quality that makes it feel more like a private house than a hotel. Off the lobby is a bar with cushioned chairs and wood beamed ceilings. The grounds are covered in lush greenery, large trees, and have plenty of shady areas, including the poolside bar, creating a private and intimate atmosphere.

Rooms

Elegant rooms and suites with vintage furniture, and sleek, modern studio apartments

The rooms and suites are elegant, yet feel fresh and vibrant with their all-white decor, eclectic artwork, large windows, and terra-cotta floors, but they are a tad small. The hotel also offers Studio Apartments, which are a short stroll from the main building. They have sitting areas, small kitchenettes, and balconies, and a more starkly modern decor. Rooms, suites, and apartments all have mounted flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are sleek and modern, with a glass shower and tub, bidets, and luxury toiletries. Some rooms have gorgeous views of the water from furnished balconies and terraces.

The hotel has a gorgeous outdoor pool surrounded by lush greenery with giant palm trees, lounge chairs, a shaded pool bar, and a stunning view of the bay.
