Purple is a signature color here, and this royal hue can be spotted throughout the hotel, including immediately upon entering. While the property is simpler than its grand name might suggest, it's still a reliably clean and well-liked place to bed down while exploring the nearby Angkor temples. That's in part due to the attention that staff provide for guests, as many previous visitors have noted. Guests are welcomed with a cold drink and towel in the small lobby, which has just a sofa and bench, plus a desk with a computer for guests to use. There's nothing fancy about this hotel overall, but the rates are reasonable, and the facilities are comfortable. The outdoor pool is a popular spot for hanging out after a day of touring. All kinds of guests on a budget are seen here, including couples, families, solo travelers, and groups. 

This hotel is centrally located within a 10-minute walk of the night market, the Old Market, and Pub Street. That gives this property a setting that's utterly convenient, without being locked in the middle of central Siem Reap's sometimes raucous downtown. Many restaurants, bars, and pubs surround it, including the popular Sugar Palm Restaurant, which is only three minutes away on foot. The Lucky Mall also can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. Plan on about a 20-minute drive to reach Siem Reap's airport, as well as the temples of Angkor Wat.

Rooms and suites are simple, but spacious and colorful, despite being on the verge of needing a refresh. There's not much in the way of character, as walls are frequently empty, and furniture is a mix of mid-tone and dark wood pieces. The hotel's signature purple color pops up here and there, though some of the furniture -- particularly sofas in higher category rooms -- is looking a bit tired. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, kettles for tea and coffee, mini-fridges, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Small bathrooms with purple accent walls have open showers, above-counter sinks, and toiletries. Some are showing the effects of the tropical air. Entry-level Superior Rooms include two twin or a queen-size bed. Deluxe Rooms are larger, with both a queen-size and single bed, plus a sofa bed. The Family Suite is located on the third floor and has two bedrooms plus a sitting area with a full-size sofa. Views are of the pool. The private Villa Bungalows offer views of the garden and easy access to the pool. They can sleep three or four people on the double and twin beds, plus a sofa. Rooms come with fruit platters and free bottled water, plus nightly turn-down service. 

Features are slim at this small property, though they're on par with other hotels its size in Siem Reap. Cafe de Villa serves all meals in a small, simple, open-air space that includes a little bar and some tropical plants. The menu features Western and local selections. Guests can opt to include continental breakfasts in their room rates, but it isn't free. The outdoor pool is long and rectangular, with a narrow tile deck on each side. Cushioned lounge chairs are lined up on one side and at one end. A couple of umbrellas and a few trees provide shade. There's a computer in the lobby for guests to use, though Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Massage services are available, and overnight shoeshines are free.
