Bottom Line

The 769-room Fairmont Singapore is a luxury chain hotel with a convenient location on top of Raffles City Mall in the bustling Riverside neighborhood. Business travelers will find the hotel especially convenient as it’s only one stop away from the Financial District and offers Executive Club Rooms that include access to free breakfast and afternoon cocktails in an exclusive lounge. The hotel has several spots for guests to dine and drink, a
large fitness center, and six tennis courts. The pool and spa are shared with its slightly less expensive sister hotel, Swissotel. Some of the hotel’s rooms have been renovated more recently than others, and stylish Fairmont Rooms come with Nespresso coffee machines and private balconies. Guests may want to compare rates with Pan Pacific Singapore in Marina Bay, which offers free Wi-Fi.

Fairmont Singapore

Scene

Business-friendly chain hotel with Executive Club Lounge

Fairmont Singapore is part of Raffles City, a development with tall towers designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei and opened
in 1986. Outside the entrance of the hotel is a large, round fountain, and in the lobby there is a striking piece of art with 800 individually hand-blown glass balls. There's also a large, impressive painting behind the front desk meant to illustrate Singapore's cultural diversity. A massive renovation to the lobby, North Tower rooms, and cocktail bar was completed in 2014, and the sleek design was intended to be a reflection of Straits Chinese culture and the city's heritage. Despite these updates, some further renovations are needed -- the lounge chairs at the pool could be replaced, and the spa is
in need of an update. Overall the atmosphere is corporate and polished. The Fairmont has definitely eclipsed its sister property, the Swissotel The Stamford, in terms of luxury, though the Swissotel's skyline views are unobstructed and more impressive.

The Fairmont's restaurants are destinations in their own right, and can attract a lively, well-heeled scene in the evenings.
