The exterior architecture of the PARKROYAL on Pickering is modern and avant-garde: The lower section of the building is made up of stacked slabs of concrete, a design inspired by terraced rice fields, and above this sits a multi-storied glass towers supported by tall concrete pillars. The facade is covered with "sky gardens" -- large terraces of plants and shade trees --  as well as green walls covered in creepers and elevated garden walk-ways, creating an urban jungle feel. The impressive entrance to the hotel is light and airy, courtesy of tall ceilings and windows, and full of green plants paired with hardwood floors and attractive wood-paneled walls. There are plant-filled terraces, open-air corridors, and walkways on multiple levels offering scenic city views and a cozy place to relax in the open air. Overall, impressive architecture and beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces brimming with greenery create an atmospheric ambiance that attracts vacationing couples and business travelers. 

The hotel is located on a busy street corner next to Hong Lim Park and surrounded by commercial buildings. There are many shops, cafes, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and many tourist attractions can be easily reached on foot. There are two MRT stations nearby -- Chinatown and Clarke Quay -- both of which are a six-minute walk away in opposite directions. There's a bus stop directly across the street from the hotel, as well as a hop-on-hop-off point.
