Bottom Line

The four-and-a-half-pearl Westin Singapore is smack in the middle of Singapore's business district, with lots of polished luxurious style. While it has several meeting spaces, the appeal here goes beyond the suit-and-tie set. The location -- a 10-minute walk from Chinatown and near the metro -- is certainly a plus, though the refined style and impeccable views are all hard to beat. Rooms are modern and spacious, while suites come with high-end touches like Bose sound systems. Wi-Fi, sadly, costs extra. The rooftop infinity pool is fantastic, and there's a proper gym plus a lovely city-view spa. Dining options include a cozy pub, cafe, and live-cooking restaurant. This luxury hotel will be hard to beat, but it might be worth looking at the Sofitel So Singapore for an equally opulent alternative.

The Westin Singapore

Scene

Sleek and stylish luxury option with amazing city and sea views from many vantages

In a sleek tower that soars above most of the financial buildings that surround it, The Westin is a polished luxury hotel that's one of the nicer outposts in the chain. Due to its sky-high status, the hotel benefits from some spectacular views over the Singapore Strait and the surrounding city. In the lobby -- which is on the 32nd floor -- those views are celebrated with a wall of windows that flood the space with natural light, while a striking light sculpture fills the ceiling. Contrasting this bright and breezy atmosphere are handsome design choices like an abundance of dark wood, rich marble, and parlor-style seating arrangements throughout the common areas. The occasional piece of traditional pottery is a nod to the local culture, and a gleaming escalator leads upwards to the rest of the hotel. With its gorgeous, light-filled spa, numerous dining and drinking options, and spacious rooms, this Westin has broad appeal, for both corporate travelers and tourists alike.
