Bottom Line

The 155 rooms of this upper-middle-range chain hotel are pretty much what you'd expect from a Hyatt -- clean and contemporary, with iPod docks and flat-screen TVs. Property amenities include a French brasserie with lovely outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a small gym with cardio machines and weights. But there are annoying fees for breakfast and Wi-Fi. The location in downtown Santa Rosa is convenient -- within walking distance of Railroad Square, a historic center with many restaurant and shopping options.

In downtown Santa Rosa, within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops

Map of Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel and Spa

This hotel is located along a pretty, lush road near a creek, and pedestrian sidewalks enable visitors to explore the surrounding area by foot. Olive Park is just a short walk away when headed south, and to the north is more of the downtown Santa Rosa area, with a few restaurants and shops.

Santa Rosa might not be the prettiest city in Sonoma Valley, but it is the largest and most convenient if you are planning a trip that does not only involve wine-tasting. The downtown area is full of department stores, restaurants, bars, hotels and office buildings. It's also the most kid-friendly place in the region, with an amusement park and ice arena right in town.

  • 15-minute drive to Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport
  • 10-minute walk to various restaurants and shops downtown
  • 12-minute drive to Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club
  • 15-minute walk to Brickyard Center Shopping Center
  • 15-minute drive to Healdsburg
  • 20-minute drive to Petaluma
