Hilton Garden Inn Spokane Airport

This Hilton Garden Inn caters primarily to business travelers during the week and leisure guests on weekends. Located just five minutes from Spokane’s airport, it stays busy and sees its fair share of stranded passengers. The renovated lobby is spacious and modern, with sheer, multi-color curtains and white pendant lamps hanging from the second story. Wood floors are set with clusters of sofas and armchairs upholstered mostly in warm earth tones. One cluster is positioned next to a gas fireplace with a granite hearth and lovely mantle with a flat-screen TV mounted just above it. White walls and large windows illuminate the open space. The lobby flows into the restaurant that sports essentially the same decor and open floor plan. It has several seating arrangements including cozy corners with bench seating along the outer walls, as well as a small bar with a granite top. It, like the hotel itself, is warm and inviting. 

The Hilton Garden Inn is a two-minute drive to the West Sunset Highway and about a five-minute drive to Spokane International Airport. It’s somewhat isolated in a commercial area with only one restaurant within walking distance (a one-minute walk) and no shops to be found. However, several restaurants can be reached within a few minutes of driving, including the Northern Quest Resort & Casino (a four-minute drive). There is a Walmart within a three-minute drive. Most of downtown Spokane and its attractions can be reached by driving 10 to 12 minutes, including the Spokane Convention Center, Riverfront Park, Bing Crosby Theater, Spokane Falls, Spokane River Square, and the campus of Gonzaga University. It's a 20-minute drive to the Fairchild Air Force Base.

The rooms at this Hilton Garden Inn are clean, quiet, and tastefully decorated, though the decor is a bit dated and the furniture is starting to show its age. Rooms are adorned with beige wallpaper, blue-green patterned carpet, and green-red-and-beige-striped drapes. Matching reddish-brown furniture of average quality includes headboards, nightstands, desks, dressers that hold 32-inch flat-screen TVs, and hall cupboards that hold mini-fridges, microwaves, and single-cup coffeemakers. The rooms' two speaker phones have a voicemail system. White duvets cover the Garden Sleep System beds, which most guests find comfortable. Bathrooms continue the light earth-toned decor with beige wallpaper, floor tiles, and tan granite vanity sink. Standard white tile frames the shower/tub combo covered with curved curtain rods. Free Wi-Fi and wired Internet is offered, and a premium Wi-Fi upgrade is available for purchase; free remote printing from rooms is also possible. Views are of the hotel grounds and parking lot and despite being close to the airport, rooms are quiet.  

Features at the Hilton Garden Inn cater to guests who are on the go. Parking is free at the on-site lot, and guests who stay at least one night can park their cars free. The hotel also operates a free 24-hour airport shuttle. For meals, the full-service restaurant and lounge serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But breakfast is not included in room rates, and room service is only available in the evenings. In between meals, guest can make use of the lobby pantry, which sells sundries, beverages (including beer and wine), snacks, and microwave-ready entrees. And free bottled water is given to guests upon check-in. The 24-hour fitness center has several Precor cardio and weight-training machines and free weights. Guests can also swim or relax at the 24-hour indoor pool that has an adjacent whirlpool and spacious patio area with several lounge chairs and tables. There is meeting space for up to 100 people including a boardroom. The 24-hour business center has two computer stations with Internet access and free printing. And free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the property. Free copies of USA Today are available on weekdays. Laundry and dry-cleaning valet services are available, and the self-serve laundry facilities are open 24 hours.
