The Inn at Steamboat

The three-pearl Inn at Steamboat occupies a three-story building set in a quiet residential setting with a view of the mountains. On the second and third floors, interconnecting balconies with rustic wooden railings run along the front of the building. The atmosphere of the interiors is of a cozy mountain lodge: The welcoming living room area in the lobby is bright and cheery, thanks to the high ceiling and a couple of over-sized leather sofas and plaid armchairs set around an imitation stone fireplace. Old-fashioned skis, snowshoes, and toboggans decorate the walls. The Inn at Steamboat is a popular place to stay year-round and most of the guests are couples or families on an active holiday. 

The Inn at Steamboat is located in a quiet, residential area, sharing the street with apartment buildings and houses. There are few shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but it’s only a nine-minute drive to the town of Steamboat Springs. Steamboat Ski Resort is a five-minute drive from the hotel.

The rooms at The Inn at Steamboat are cozy and spacious. Decorated in a warm, homey style, the attractive pine furniture and ornamental snowshoes displayed on the wall keep with the hotel’s mountain-lodge atmosphere. Beds are covered with brown and beige plaid bed skirts, complemented by paisley bed covers in the same colors. Painted nightstands and brown velour armchairs add to the homey, old-fashioned appeal. The Deluxe Rooms have balconies with views of the mountains. Vanity sinks with granite countertops are positioned outside the bathrooms, while adjacent small bathrooms are equipped with toilets and shower/tub combos. Each room has air-conditioning, a coffeemaker, mini-fridge, a flat-screen TV with DVD player, and free Wi-Fi. The building does not have an elevator, which may present a challenge for some guests.

Breakfast at The Inn at Steamboat gets enthusiastic reviews from past guests who appreciate the variety it offers, from baked goods to breakfast burritos and freshly made waffles. The outdoor swimming pool isn't very big, but it is heated and open year-round, and there’s a poolside sun terrace and a hot tub. Other amenities include a sauna and an on-site massage therapy service in the relaxation room. The hotel also features a fitness center with a weight-training machine, stationary bicycle, elliptical machine, and treadmill. A computer with a high-speed Internet connection is available for guest use in the lobby area, and there’s a free Wi-Fi connection throughout the property. During the winter ski season, the hotel provides a convenient shuttle bus service to the nearby Steamboat Ski Resort leaving every half hour, as well as a “dinner shuttle” to Steamboat Springs, allowing guests to enjoy a meal in town without worrying about the drive home. Guests should be aware that an extra resort fee is added to the bill.
