The upscale eight-floor NH Stuttgart Airport has an industrial exterior that blends in with the location, which is close to the airport. The location and business facilities appeal to corporate clientele and travelers on layovers. Dark wooden details are found in the large lobby, but the atmosphere is bright and airy thanks to two floors of windows. Stairs -- or modern elevators -- lead to the second-floor dining areas. Comfy contemporary sofas and chairs in the lobby offer ample lounge space with glowing red and white vases on shelves. By the front desk, airport flight departure and arrival information broadcasts on flat-screen TVs. Blue floor lights, similar to an airport runway, lead the way from the entrance to the front desk.

The main appeal of this hotel is its close proximity to the Stuttgart Airport, which can be reached in 10 minutes via the paid shuttle that runs to and from the terminals every 30 minutes. Business travelers can also reach the International Conference Center and Messe Stuttgart in 10 minutes by car. This location is in an industrial section on the fringes of Filderstadt, an area that doesn’t offer much to explore on foot. There aren’t many restaurant or bar options in the immediate area. Driving to the Stuttgart city center -- where there are eateries, bars, museums, theaters, and shops -- takes 25 minutes. Shopping at the Outlet City Metzingen is a 15-minute drive. Munich is about two hours and 30 minutes by car. Parking at the hotel is free. 

There are 208 rooms, and each is decorated with dark laminate wooden floors and headboards. Comfy black-and-white checked chairs, muted drapery, and neutral lampshades create a subtle sophistication. Sleek bathrooms have hairdryers, shower/tub combos, and frosted windows that face the beds. Standard and Superior Rooms feature 75 square feet (23 square meters) of space, and windows overlook either the garden or neighborhood. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, coffeemakers, minibars, safes, irons (on request), and kettles. Superior Rooms have bathrobes and espresso machines. Cribs and rollaway beds can be requested. Adjoining and accessible rooms are available as well. 

The facilities at this hotel appeal primarily to business travelers. Eight modernly designed conference rooms fit up to 150 people and come with optional catering -- from coffee and snacks to three-course meals. Three computers and a printer are in the business center. And Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. 

Two colorful, contemporary restaurants -- Schinderbuckel and Nhube -- serve Mediterranean and international cuisine and a scrumptious breakfast buffet, though it's pricey. Some room packages do include breakfast, but it still costs extra. Cartoon placemats, plastic cups, and paper plates are available for kids. There’s also a bar in the Nhube restaurant. Outside at the rear of the property is a lush garden terrace with dining tables, lounge chairs, and barbecue grills. A 24-hour, self-service pantry sells beverages, snacks, and sandwiches, but late at night the case is typically running low. The stylishly designed spa offers two saunas, a steam room, solarium, and a small, pleasant gym. Here guest can find modern cardio machines, a flat-screen TV, bottled water, and towels.  Other freebies include coffee in the lobby and newspapers.
